Looking for Forgeworld paint review

Hi guys

Just getting back into the hobby after a short break and was wondering if anyone had done a proper review of the forgeworld airbrush paints?

If there has been could anyone please post a link or if not has anyone had some experience with their metals and clear colours.

Thanks

Lord Lee

I've used Corvus Black, Typhon Ash and Castallax Bronze.

They're good paints, the Bronze covers great and airbrushes well. It does need thinning a little more I found.

Typhon and Corvus can be used out of the pot and cover great. They brush on well, too.

Honestly i'm not sure what else to tell you - I like them, and have no regrets getting them, in fact I've got an order with FW at the moment that includes Phalanx Yellow. The Corvus Black in particular has saved me a ton of time with mixing my own off-black colour for my RG.

Nice I was worried about the quality of the metals mostly as I am not a big fan of GWs current ones, however it looks like that's not a problem with the FW range.

So last question I am doing quite large arimes in the near future, some of which will be posted up on the B&C (including Vostroyan Firstborn, a diy CSM warband, a hive fleet, mech Orks and a small allied force of loyalists from the coming HH box)

Would you recommend I buy select paints or just buy the full set?

Thanks Lord Lee.

I've been using them off and on, as just brush-on paint. Corvus Black is amazing, I love it. Typhon Ash is also really good. Valdor Gold is...interesting. It's a silvery gold/goldy sliver that looks really good as an edge highlight. And of course, Night Lords Blue is good. Somewhere lighter than Kantor Blue, but still dark enough to not look like Ultramarines.

I'm planning on trying the rest of the metalics soon, hopefully. As well as the Sons of Horus greens.

Would you recommend I buy select paints or just buy the full set?

Most comments I've seen, to paraphase, basically say the paints are decent but nothing special and more expensive than others in the market.

I cherry pick my paints from all manufacturors and recommend you, and every one else, do the same. Buying whole ranges seems excessive to me.happy.png
