DarthAngel
Hello all! A LOT of things have happened since the last time I wrote here. With the coming of AdMech I've been really just ignoring my beloved Space Marines and played with my new, long waited Martian-robots.. ^^ Couple of months ago however, things changed.. I bought the new Astartes Codex and as soon as I got it open, I felt like I've been reborn. Not only the Gladius Strike Force but all the new artwork, stories and rules got me really excited.. I played a couple of games with my Iron Hands army allying with Skitarii and/or Cult Mechanicus (and what's not more epic than that?) but one day when I looked at my army, set ready for the upcoming battle, I felt like something was missing from the force.. I stayed up late that night.. I just couldn't sleep because of all the thoughts running across my brain.. And JUST before I fell asleep... I got it... And here was the answer I was looking for: I stripped EVERYTHING apart from what was my old army.. I spent whole week putting together these colossial warriors of the Emperor and as soon as I got the first squad done.. I started to crave for more... So I put together another squad, bought/traded for more supplies to add more Truescales to my ranks. Squad after squad I worked on them, soon realizing I had put together almost enough marines to field even the new battle company.. Which of course needed fitting characters to lead it.. And now looking my Imperial force standing on the table.. The wrath of the both heads of the Imperial Aquila.. Finally satisfies me.. A lot of things have happened since the last time I wrote here - And I'm far from over... DarthAngel
Reporting! Time to show you what's been done. Captain for starters is ready to lead the strike force.. ...as is the company's ancient dreadnought (along with his ride) Speaking of which, I decided to go for an extra mile with this Pod, after all, old gentlemen are known to ride in style ;) And let's not forget the rest of the transports! The first Demi-Company is starting to look finished... For the last one, I saved you the real treat.. ;) Little more work on the mask.. I took much inspiration from Dave Taylor's Knight Paladin and wanted the faceless, cold look out of him. So that's it for now, I still have a busy week ahead of me, my deadline creeping closer mercilessly... Speaking of which, I have a couple of dozen Marines to finish off! Stay tuned... DarthAngel
Truly appraising words brother, thank you! Today started my "vow's" last week. Only a dozen squads remaining unpainted. All 42 battle brothers assembled, including the battle-company's armoury and it's allies. I'll post some fresh pics later this week and if Emperor guides my hand true, I shall end the weekend with a pic of the whole force - ready for the upcoming battles.. DarthAngel
Updating! Before I get my whole army in one big family picture but I decided to post some work that I've been doing lately: All of my Tanks were finished yesterday, now including custom-made Command Tanks, a scratch-built Spartan, Land Raider Crusader and full Squadrons of both Predator Annihilators and Whirlwinds! Next on the work-bench are a pair of Storm Ravens and a Land Speeder to legalize the Suppression Force -formation. Stay tuned! DarthAngel
Thank you! I also have 5 Drop Pods, 4 Dreadnoughts, 3 Flyers and a Land Speeder so this actually is only a half of all of my vehicles! I would love to own a full Vindicator squadron too, should make a fine-looking armoured task force having all of the three tank types fully loaded!
