Be careful of the daemon kin, as instant-blood thirsters are very mean. Maybe focus on getting units down but avoid outright killing them? they wouldn't get blood tithe points then while helping you get objectives.  Maybe.

 

Otherwise, good job on the victories! Glory to Mars! 

I'd say the opposite. Without kastelans if anything gets in melee that unit is gonna get stomped. If you kill a unit and he summons another it wont beable to charge until the next turn??? Thern you kill that unit on your turn and repeat. Though my demonkin experience usualy ends with a concede after i pop the D thirster.

mithrilforge: yeah the wolves were tricky mainly because of the knight, his other units i slowly wore them down.

 

I've played daemonkin but not played against them, his force consists of a daemon prince, maulerfiend, heldrake, khorne berserkers in a rhino and a chaos marine squad, so no slaughtercult formation or cheap expendable stuff. I realise that if I can immobilise the maulerfiend then that can take it out of the game quickly same with the heldrake and hopefully take out the rhino and the daemon prince quickly, though i don't know what gear it has except armour and wings. got to make sure my Kataphrons are protected well as they are my deadliest units especially to marines.

Sadly my player wasn't available last weekend so hopefully play him this saturday. was was able to do a large game using 2000pts of ad-mech allied with dark angels against dark eldar. i was able to try out some of the Mechanicum units :) i worked out the following:

 

> Thallax are pretty great, tough with nasty guns and a pain to infiltrators and cover saves.

 

> Castellax are pretty good, especially with their High BS when upgraded.

 

> Thanatar is awesome :D the look on my opponents face when told what it did and how tough it is.

 

Was finally able to do something about those pesky high jink saves and cover saves, made a mess of a lot of the units and even killed off 3 flyers in one turn with interceptor fire (his 5000pt force has about 7 flyers in it!) will do a seperate thread about the Mechanicum stuff i think :)

Yeah skits need transport something fierce. That or hordes of vanguards and moving them up the board very agressively so the only safe place is the pit of thier deployment zone turn 1. Then if you had targets turn one, you should still have vanguard left turn 3 at which point your rad guns will blot out the sun!!!

If I could do the league again I would have used my Mechanicum stuff as I'm doing much better with them at the moment. only lost the 1 game with them so far and that was an apocalypse game with my ad-mech and knight as allies.

most recent game was 1500pts versus Necrons where I tried thallax for the first game :) which I like as cheap and effective, didn't finish the game but at the end of turn 4 my only losses were a few thallax :D while I killed a c'tan, wraiths, tomb spyder, swarms, 2 large units of warriors (I quite like the Ordinator bombardment ability, wiped out a warrior unit with it on turn one)
