CommissarHughes
I was recommended to look into the chimera wheeled conversion kit, and I've been loving the pictures I've seen so far. I thought I may as well ask here, what do you think of it and does the kit affect the size of the hull (bigger or smaller is important)? I'd like to get one for my next chimera hull, it looked sexy on a mnticore. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315111-wheels/ Share on other sites

librisrouge
The only wheeled IG vehicle I'm interested in is the Taurox. Tread lightly on any other conversions. Hewkers
I've found that the taurox, without any conversions, doesn't actually look as bad when painted in a colour scheme other than that hideous GW blue one! I should know as I have 5 of them :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315111-wheels/#findComment-4202299 Share on other sites

Kontakt
I haven't liked the conversion kits, myself. Mostly because the wheels are clearly not what was intended to be in that spot. Whether they fill the space or not, the fenders just aren't right. It truly looks like one of those people who ruins their pickup truck with a lift kit has done the same to an armoured vehicle. To each their own, But I really don't like what is available thus far. Personally, I would start looking for something else similar in the same scale. Carraigf
Speaking pf the CHS kit and my own experience the kit is a total mare. Cast quality was poor, had to get a second kit and while usable required lots of tweaking to fit. Eventually opted for a MK1 chassis as was closer in length to the kit than the mark 2 but even then requied lots of work to shave down one piece and bulk up the other. The wheels are good but warping in the chassis makes it hard to get them flat to the ground so the model wobbles a bit without more sanding. All in the build took about 10 hours and have to say I'm not thrilled with the result, looks okay on the table but given the cost of the kit and poor quality I'd avoid in future.
