Pharos Confirmation

Emperor's Furor

Recommended Posts

Dunno if this is known for certain but it was wildly guessed at and most of them were right, this is what Black Library just put on Facebook

If you've been following us closely, you'll remember that last week we teased a picture from the cover of the next novel in the Horus Heresy series: the iconic yellow-clad gauntlet of a VII Legion warrior.

Those of you who guessed that the fist belonged to Alexis Polux, give yourselves a power-pat on the back.

This is the full artwork for ‘Pharos’, the first Horus Heresy novel from author Guy Haley.

Imperial Fists, Ultramarines and Night Lords… Could this be the end of Imperium Secundus?

We're pretty excited about this one. If you are too, you can sign up for our Horus Heresy reminder and we'll let you know when this (or any other new novel in the series) is released.

I'm expecting the Sons of Dorn to get some payback for what Night Haunter did to their daddy.

I don't mind Murdery Bolter Porn, after all, that is why the majority of people read the books (and it kind of is the Astartes job to be Murdery and shoot bolters)

I just hope it will focus a LOT less on the Primarchs and a lot more of the actual Astartes, by this ofc I mean the Primarchs being brought up every sentence. And I really hope it is not going to be a one sided thing, with cartoon villain Night Lords and Super best ever Imperial Fists and Ultramarine Bromance.

Night Lords haven't been portrayed too well outside AD-Bs treatment of them. Typically everyone else seems to write them as cartoon mustache-twirling villains. $5 says they end up being convenient bolter fodder but still manage to get their dad and Sevatar out of Ultramar at the end. Swish-swoosh convenient plot device.

I know myself and a few others really like Guy Haley's treatment of them in A Safe and Shadowed Place, so if he keeps that up, then I will be very pleased.

The only time I haven't liked portrayals of the Night Lords is Nick Kyme's Vulkan Lives and Gav Thorpe's The Value of Fear.

Ooh, John French's Child of the Night. That was pure love for me because it was just... ugh, oh yeah. Just pure awesome.

Also, I was actually a fan of Curze's Shadow impersonation by Dan Abnett.

Also, unless Curze magically makes it to the city and Sevatar is removed from the Invincible Reason, I highly doubt they'll even show up, much less escape. And if I'm not mistaken, A D-B is still working through on Sevatar's future. The only reason Nightfall is no longer in the works is because it needed to also include Imperium Secundus so whatever happens next, will be a continuation of both, instead of just one.

You don't know the time frame between the 2 novels it could be perfectly feasible for curze to get himself in a position to be picked up. He is a primarch after all. Could probably run forever if he wanted.

Sevatar on the other hand is gonna require some decent plot for him and the atramentar to escape

Actually, A Safe and Shadowed Place ends when the Pharos gets super charged or whatever it was Dantioch did to it at the end of Unremembered Empire, so the novel should pick up just a few weeks later or however long it takes for the Night Lords to reach the planet on sublight. And we know from the Herald of Sanguinius that peace reigns in Macragge long ebough for Azkeallon to start freaking out about the sheer number of petitions(something like hundreds per day?) Sanguinius is getting and thus the Sanguinor is born. So it should actually be pretty reasonable for all things concerned. The only reason I can think of Curze even being involoved plotwise is that he is used to stop the Ultramarines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels and other various Loyalists from just constantly sending reinforcements via the Pharos.

Which is actually a viable, logical way to insert him now that I think about it. I might actually look forward to that.

Still, I highly doubt we'll see Sevatar and I sincerely hope Guy Haley keeps continuing the pace with the Night Lords he wrote before, because I absolutely enjoyed those guys. Especially the insane brother.

Looks like more than just Pharos is coming out soon rather than late. Let's speculate a bit on the pictures.

1. This is clearly from the cover of Pharos, book 33 as we know.

2. Looks like Garro. Possibly an audio drama.

3. A new art piece on Emperor - could this mean that ADB has finished his Master of Mankind book? One can hope..

4. Scars sequel?

In addition, we know from leaks that there are 2 more Calth books coming out H1/2016. It would seem a bit crowed if we were to see 3 more full books this year, so maybe number 3 or 4 will be a short story or audio.

1. Pharos (Guy Haley)

2. Garro: Vow of Faith (James Swallow)

3. Eye of Terra (Anthology) (Various Authors)

4. War without end (Anthology) (Various Authors)

I always welcome more on Garro, but two new anthologies is kind of disappointing. Should have guessed though..

I think he's either a Knight-Errant or he'll be the first Black Shield we actually see in the series. Or he's just there for show.

Then again, he could just be an Iron Warrior who forgot to polish his armor.

And hey, as long as BL keeps up with the normal rate for novels(which they have been), by all means, pump out more short stories. Hopefully new ones and not just transcriptions.

The black and yellow guy is a Dark Angel, I think.

If it is it's really not flattering, the Dark Angels should be black, perhaps with a tinge of green, with silver rims and red legion emblem.
The Dark Angel is that dude right behind the Ultramarine's shoulder. You can just make out the wings on his helm.

Yeah, that's the problem he's not coloured very well.

Has heresy novel in Imperium Secundus.... doesnt have Blood Angels ..... -_-

That anthology with all the Loyalists on it can you guess which is all cause that one that looks black and yellow looks weird to me.
