TemujinZero
I'm looking to equip my Alpha Legion Delegatus / Centurion with a Nanyte Blaster, and I was wondering how best to model this relic. My mental image suggests something Necron-like, but I couldn't find anything in the Necron range suitably sized. I've come accross a few bits accross various ranges (dark eldar, eldar, scitarii) that appear to have potential, but nothing that really stands out to me. I've searched for other people's efforts, but haven't really found anything. How would you model it? Have you seen any conversions in the wild? Olis
Although I've never seen a conversion to represent one, perhaps a suggestion: How about cannibalising a Callidus assassin's Neural Shredder? TemujinZero
That was one candidate I noted down, though it's on the small side and is a costly bit to get hold of. Olis
Good points. It would indeed be an expensive option. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315210-the-nanyte-blaster/#findComment-4204450 Share on other sites
Slips
How about the Dark Eldar Ossefactor? Caillum
How about the Dark Eldar Ossefactor? Yes! This is perfect! Will have to model this onto an Astartes arm (with magnets)! Reyner
What about some of the Skitarii or Magos pistols? They look pretty wild. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315210-the-nanyte-blaster/#findComment-4204596 Share on other sites
TemujinZero
The main candidates I identified were the wrack liquifier or ossefactor, or the scitarii phosphor blast pistol. I might try and acquire all three and see which looks most the part. Audemus
The Skitarii Phosphor Blast Pistol looks relatively close to that description, assuming you are not set on the dark elder gun. TemujinZero
So I finally got around to building my Delegatus and trying out some bits to see how they look. The arm I have isn't the best, so I might well replace it, but these photos should give you an idea of what the guns look like on a marine. First I tried a Dark Eldar Ossefactor. I'm pretty happy with this, though I might try to make it a bit less Eldar by filing off some of the gem-like details. Next I tried a Scitarii Phosphor Blast Pistol. This looks a bit small, but doesn't suffer from the obviously Eldar aesthetic. Which one says grey goo hairdryer to you? Rangaman
I like the Xenos one, definitely cut the gems off and maybe have a look at cutting down some of the ostentatious curves it has under the main gun. That might be enough to make it less alien and more archeo-tech Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315210-the-nanyte-blaster/#findComment-4240296 Share on other sites
Charlo
Verrrrry cool on the eldar one! Bit o filing and you'll have a top relic. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315210-the-nanyte-blaster/#findComment-4240306 Share on other sites
