Having fought at their Primarch’s side from the days before the coming of the Emperor, the Mor Deythan are among the most loyal and experienced of veterans. Through the endless procession of death they have overseen, the Mor Daythan have perfected hard won skills that surpass those of most Space Marines.

Masters of stealth, attacking from the shadows with almost preternatural skill, the Mor Deythan Strike Squads are the pre-eminent infiltration and execution units of the Raven Guard. Few who enter their sights survive.

This Mor Deytahn Strike Squad is made up of five models, armoured in modified MkVI ‘Corvus’ battleplate that bears the symbol of their Legion. Each wears a cloak and is equipped with a sniper rifle, holstered bolt pistol and a selection of grenades. The kit also includes an optional un-helmeted head.

This is a complete, multi part resin kit. It includes five 32mm round bases.

Personally, I think the price point on the models is a little high for a squad a 5 - but they sure are pretty!

That is pretty expensive. Heck they're the second most expensive (complete) infantry kit they got after ultramarine suzerains. (IF templar brethren and phalanx warders are also more expensive technically, since they require a basic kit as well to assemble, pushing them above 50)

This means they're more expensive than all the various special terminators (phoenix guard, deathshroud, red butchers gorgons, fire drakes etc etc), which are all 46.50. Most special power armor units are in the 33-37 range. (Gal vorbak are the only ones not, which like the terminators are 46.50, and also the three mentioned above.... this actually brings clarity to why I'm so hesitant about getting either Templar brethren or phalanx warders. They cost more than bloody terminators...)

Yeah. Expensive.

I think they look pretty nice painted. I was a bit unsure of the eye-lens stuck to the side of the helms, but with a bit of colour they look pretty neat smile.png

(Is the thing about the rock an inside joke ? wacko.png )

I should have posted after the open day to be honest about the price - I got so excited that I had a pack in hand (which they didnt advertise we could!) that i just paid - it was only when i looked through the receipt later that I saw the £50 tag!

I'm actually half way through building the kit (it's on my desk next to me as I type this) and they are amazing - but I did balk at the price when I saw them!

I'm still 50/50 on whether to pick up the combi-weapons for them as personally I love the sniper boltguns but not sure they do enough in game - but as has been said another £30 for 10 combi-weapons of the same type starts to get extremely pricey!

Are the shoulders separate or moulded onto the Torso?

I'm fairly sure they're seperate - Mark Bedford made a Praetor from the limited Praetor model and used those Shoulder Pads for him, so guessing they must be seperate components

They are attached to the arms unfortunately. There are only five components per miniature (head, backpack, weapon, left arm with shoulderpad and then the body, legs and right arm are all one piece).

I was hoping they would be more conversion friendly myself.

wow, that sucks. Those pads have great potential to be re-used elsewhere (with easy ability to greenstuff over the details if need be), but not if you have to trims arms out and attempt to make them fit other arms.

Oh well

Not a fan.. Was looking forward to using pieces for a recon/seeker squad. £50? not a chance in hell. The Iron hands MKIII squad come in more detail and a hell of a lot more conversionable for £33.

Far too much bling for the most invisible group of RG around for me!

Not sure I think a couple of chapter symbols and capes constitutes as far too much bling

Which brings us again to the question how they motivate these guys to be pricier than terminators.

Oh right. We do get that rock.

Big Raven Guard logo's all over the Armour is really too much bling "lets cover them in chapter symbols so we know that they are the best of the best of the Legion".

What would make these models a lot better is detailed pattern work within the plates similar to how the RG dreadnaught has the pattern around its body arm and leg iirc. At least a decent pattern and detailing would justify the £50 price tag.

way to expensive for what you get. forge world prices are high but typically the convert ability of all the bits and repose ability of the resin along with the detail help justify the cost but there is less detail on these (though I think they look just right) the kneeling poses are more difficult to do anything but kneel with and the sniper bolters are cool but I mean all they have is a long barrel and I small optic scope ( I've seen better looking home made sniper bolters) and the fact that there are no options is frustrating FW is getting bad for that in my opinion I bought 10 cataphractii one power axe set and 1 special weapons and can only fully equip 9 and a half terminators like golly gee

This, so much this.

costs too much for 5 dudes, and way too fancy for sneaky ninjas.

Im pretty damn happy I bought some recon marines instead of holding out.

WLK

Man, that rock. I would fill my garden with them.

As for the extras that come with the rock, I think they wear a bit too much iconography for a stealthy assassination unit. They are made them look pretty, not functional which is something RG are all about. Prettiness is for EC.

Still, I give this kit a rock/10. Would rock it again.

Wow that's a damn shame. I was hoping to split the shoulderpads with seekers and the RG upgrade bits to create two more varied units.
