Frater Cornelius
So, the new guy around the block. This bad boy sports the regular IK defenses and profile. However, it also includes a Flare Shield-type effect on its own Ion Shield. While no effect against auto-damage like Grav, D or Gauss, this thing can stop S10 Blasts or Las-cannons fairly well, especially if you do not have first turn. Very solid boost. It also has 7HP. Not enough to survive a 6 on the D chart, but now able to survive two perfect rolls of 3HP when getting the 2-5 on the D chart. The trade-off is only having AV12 on the side, so beware of those Jetbikes and Flyrants. The offensive potential is solid. At long range, you have a weapon similar to the Knight Errant. Instead of S9 Melta you have S8 Armourbane. It has a Gets Hot-type effect, but it can also throw out a Vortex instead. Solid gun to fry some TEQ and worse while having some solid effect on armour. Unusual for a Cerastus variant, this one comes with a second weapon. An 8" D weapon. Only short ranged, but it is enough to follow up with a charge and still being able to fire your primary weapon at something else. While this is certainly not a Wraithknight, having D outside of melee is solid, especially a quick chassis like the Cerastus. Finally, you have the usual D in melee, with a bonus against Fortifications. One interesting effect is getting twin-linked against SH and GC. So if you want an IK variant to kill the other Knights, this one is a pretty solid pick. The Lancer is arguably better with I5 melee, but this one can do it just as well while remaining useful against non-IK models. With only 20 more points than my usual pick, the Acheron, I think I have found my new standard FW IK LoW inclusion. What do you guys think? Slips
Hes Solid. Gets Really Nasty when used in Knight Armies and you either get the IWND Relic (40k?) or WL Trait (30k). Combined with Blessed Autosimulacra, which he comes with, if you lose even a Single Hull Point, you get two chances to Regenerate them; on a 5+ with IWND and 6+ with BA. So if your dice are hot, he's going to take a LOT to take down. He makes for a Great Warlord in both Systems due to making him a Seneschal (+50pts but, imo, worth it) granting +1WS/BS/Invuln. and getting to re-roll Warlord Trait if you want to. Always give him Occular Augmentics; Re-rolling 1s at 12" or Less with Ranged Weapons on the D Chart means that, along with Twin-Linked vs SH and GC, hes a pretty nasty prospect for any of them to face. Also, Night Vision is a nice bonus. In 40k, he can make great use out of the Formation Bonuses especially the more defensively minded ones since hes not really lacking in the Firepower Department since both his ranged weapons can dish out S:D if you're lucky enough (Roll that 6 for Vortex, yo!). What this means is that, if you're lucky enough, you can shoot both ranged weapons for potentially 2 S:D Hits followed up by S:D In CC something only a fair few models in the game can actually do; its usually one or the other: Ranged D or Melee D. Just beware Tarpits. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315268-imperial-knight-atrapos/#findComment-4205830 Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
I would not really worry about tarpits. Between 4A and Stomps, he should clear most of them out fairly quickly. Slips
Depends on the amount. If, for example, a Fearless Cult Levy Squad of 50 bodies in 30k Charged the thing, even with Stomp and 4A it would take a LONG time to clear them all out. GogglesDown
Having a Castigator near by for a counter assault may disincentivise your opponent if you are using more knights than just the Atrapos. Targetlock
So do you get two rolls then? one for it will not die and one for blessed? or does it improve it it? either way, pretty neat :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315268-imperial-knight-atrapos/#findComment-4206245 Share on other sites

Statistically it is the same thing though. 50% chance of getting one HP back. But you could get two.
