Eviscerators are no longer Unwieldy? (for sisters)

So I just checked the codex again, fresh download.  We MAY have Eviscerators that strike at Initiative now.

The key line is the part of our codex that says:

"Profiles for the following Melee weapons are listed in the Reference section."  At which point, it lists weapons including the Eviscerator.

Under our Reference section, Eviscerators no longer have the Unwieldy special rule.

Now the conflict comes up in that the rest of the line quoted above states:

"Their (these weapons) full rules can be found in Warhammer 40000: The Rules."

Now bearing in mind, the rules that Codex always trumps rulebook where there is conflict... does this now mean we strike at Initiative with our Eviscerators?

Mine still says 13th Oct 2013 for the published date, I'm assuming this doesn't change for updates? I've never noticed it being updating either way!

Typo or not, by RAW Sisterhood evis will strike at initiative it appears. Might want to find the rule that specifies codex rules overriding the BRB ones first though msn-wink.gif

I spent a good while scouring the rulebook for the various weapons rules, with a rules lawyer's cap on. It seems to state that all weapons have a profile, and that you use that profile to fight with. Of course the codex says that our profile is specifically in the reference section, and the rulebook still states that we use codex over rulebook when there is a conflict (Basic versus Advanced, under the Core Rules section).

Guess that means we strike at Initiative for now then ;)

I've checked my current version, versus the one that is offered on my BL download page - the profile for the Eviscerator has exactly the same profile in both versions (it doesn't say anything about an update on the BL site...), so it's either a typo, or as Naminé said - Codex > rulebook smile.png

Of course, the fluffy reason for no longer having "Unwieldy" is that Repentia have gained such skill in their use that they can wield them as well as a "normal" Chainsword happy.png

Of course Faith! goes a long way msn-wink.gif

For those who have the Unwieldy rule still in their codex reference section, can you please report on what version of the codex you are using and ensure you have a fresh download?

It's clearly a mistake, but I wonder why GW keep tampering with the codex like this.  It used to say Unwieldy in my version, and now it doesn't!

For the record, mine is the .epub version.

I've got the eBook Edition from the Apple Store and it's missing the "unwieldy" rule.  Does anyone know when this changed?  I can't remember ever looking at that page too closely as they have always been unwieldy and I never had a reason to doubt it.

Edit - I did email gamefaqs@gwplc.com with no response yet.  If enough people ask the same question, we may get a response

"Their full rules can be found in Warhammer 40,000: The Rules" is pretty crystal clear. You want the full rules, you have to refer to the rulebook, and that's going to tell you that they're unwieldy.

It's obviously just a formatting error, there's a trailing comma where the rule has been truncated.

It is an error yes, but the great battle of RAW vs RAI doesn't end for a good reason :P I'm more concerned by the fact that there are different versions floating around when we should all have the same thing. When I get the time I'm going to delete and re-download mine to see what happens. I'll not hold my breath...

The reference sheet is not the rules. The clue is the name. The rules for Eviscerators are found in the main rulebook, as clearly stated in the codex.

It also says you use the profile in the reference section. When you attack, you use a weapons profile. For us, that is the profile in the reference section, as the codex says.
