This was posted in the Blood Angels forum, and I thought I would post it here too.

And thanks so much to the people who have!

So I figured this would be seen by the right people in the BA forum seeing as this is a BA character. I hope this is not out of line with forum rules.

I wrote these rules a while ago, based on how I modeled my devastator sergeant. and tweaked a couple things before posting. Note that the points cost is just an estimate, and I would appreciate help with it.

Yay! Pictures! This is the model these rules where written for.

You will notice a few rules are inspired by existing models.

Reaper's Caress is strongly inspired by Tycho's relic Blood Song

The special rule Unshakable is similar to Calgar's ability (not sure if it's a special rule or a Warlord Trait).

Sergeant Brother Relemin………………90 Points

Brother Relemin replaces the Sergeant in one Devastator Squad or Sternguard Veteran Squad and does not take up a force organization slot. An army that includes neither Devastator Squads nor Sternguard Veteran Squads may not include Brother Relemin.

Was previously only an upgrade for devastators, but this changed due to Xenith's suggestion.

Unit Composition:

  • 1 (Unique)

Unit Type:

  • Infantry

Wargear:

  • Power sword
  • Close-combat weapon
  • Frag grenades
  • Krak grenades
  • Signum
  • Special Issue Ammunition (only if replacing a Sergeant in a Sternguard Veteran Squad)
  • Artificer armour

Used to have Artificer Armour, changed due to evildrcheese's comment, which I agree with

And now I changed it back, thanks to Xenith's lovely comment! It should be obvious at this point I don't really care either way.

Also, the Special Issue Ammunition was added due to the same comment.

Special Rules:

  • And They Shall Know No Fear
  • Furious Charge
  • Unshakable

Unshakable: Centuries of leading Devastator marines into combat have honed Brother Relemin’s focus in the heat of battle to levels preternatural even for an Astartes.

Whenever Brother Relemin’s unit would take a morale check in the Shooting phase, instead roll a die. On a result of 1 or 2 the morale check is taken as normal. On a 3 or better choose whether to count the morale check as passed or failed. If the morale check is voluntarily failed in this manner and the unit would fall back into contact with or past the table edge reduce the fall back distance by the minimum amount to prevent the unit from contacting the table edge.

RELICS OF BAAL

Reaper’s Caress: This combi-melta stands as a testament to the exquisite workmanship and skill of the master artificers of Baal. Its design incorporates an adjustable barrel allowing for extended range from the main armament of the weapon. Furthermore, the potency of its meltagun attachment is unmatched. Brother Relemin has borne Reaper’s Caress into battle for over a century.

Reaper’s Caress is a combi-weapon with the following profile

Range S AP Type

Standard 24" 4 5 Rapid Fire

Dilated 30" 5 5 Heavy 1

18" 9 1 Assault 1, Melta, Master-Crafted, One Use Only

The melta attachment was S7 with Lance. Changed thanks to CaptainHelion's excellent comment

Servant-Brother Zarthel: Zarthel was an aspirant to the Blood Angels in the dim past. He showed promise, but did not survive his yearlong sleep in the Hall of Sarcophagi. An industrious Techmarine created this servo skull from Zarthel’s remains. Its ornate gold design includes targeting sensors and short-range vox links.

Whenever the unit Servant-Brother Zarthel’s bearer is in declares their target in your Shooting phase, you may roll a die. On a result of 4 or more the bearer of Servant-Brother Zarthel may use their Signum an extra time this Shooting phase, but not more than once on a single model. Note that this allows the model to either use their Signum twice, or fire a weapon and use their Signum once.
