Bung
I dont play CSM but i love to paint some of those models. So here is my version of a generic red armoured Chaoslord. Limitations: - out of the Box and no extra parts - rule of cool Played a bit with contrasts and some new technics. Bit unhappy how cloak and face turned out but ok with the overall outcome. So come give me the criticism to the face. http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/ayv8-2y-49f6.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/ayv8-32-cbb5.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/ayv8-30-ee31.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/ayv8-31-be60.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315405-bung%C2%B4s-testing-range/ Share on other sites
Quixus
Axe and claw looks cool indeed, probably cooler than LC and Power/Chain Fist. Since you don't play, it won't bother you that the LC does not get an extra attack from the axe and it is debatable whether the axe gets an extra attack from the LC. You have very heavy shading and the left arm/side looks darker than the right. Maybe give the faces on the axe and leg blue eyes like the blades for some more contrast in those areas. Rule of cool notwithstanding, one does not survive the long war without wearing a helmet. ;) I have no issues with the face or the cloak. I have no issues with the face or the cloak. I know that with those armes, but those armour was a test for a new way of airbrushing armour and painted everything seperate and didnt go 100% as planned. Will be better with more practise. With the eyes, i considered that but i suck at painting eyes. :D I thought about a helmet but consideres i want to have another contrast as in fleshy parts to armour parts. Face, the winged helmet and the weapons should be seen as a triangle or the face centered in a triangle by weapons and the wing to have a more pleasant look, something i got from an arts class. With the face i wanted a more weathered skin, but didnt go as well as planned. Well the cloak should have looked like this: http://fantasygames.com.pl/blog/cape-painting-tutorial/ But i am happy for my first try with that tutorial. I consider that miniature finished, if i start over again i will ruin it. :D So take your adavice for my next project.
