CaptainStabby
I see a lot of folks using grey primer instead of black or a colored basecoat. What are you all using? Brand etc... Cheers! Aqui
I use a grey primer sold from the UK automotive parts company Halfords. There should be a comparable retail outlet in the US that sells something similar. The paint I get is cheaper, you get more and the coverage is better Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315492-grey-primer/#findComment-4211771 Share on other sites

Stercus
I'll add another vote for Halfords grey. It's tremendous. Sprays evenly, doesn't clog and you get a massive can for about £7.99. Their white is also good, haven't tried the black yet though. However, CaptainStabby is from the US Hopefully, there'll be a good retailer out there that does something similar Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315492-grey-primer/#findComment-4211801 Share on other sites
NovemberIX
I can recommend DupliColor automotive sandable primer, about 6 bucks a can isn't over pressured like the krylon stuff, and goes on smooth and drys tight. Usually found at O'reilley Autoparts or your local regional variant. CaptainStabby
Awesome, thanks folks. Sounds like a trip to O-O-O'Reilley is in order! And now for any of you who have heard it that jingle is stuck in your head. muahahaha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315492-grey-primer/#findComment-4211841 Share on other sites
Reldn
I know I'm probably alone in this, but, I use Bob Ross Grey Gesso. I've never had any luck with spray primers. So, brush on is the way to go for me. ...and yes, that jingle is stuck in my head now! Thanks... *laughs* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315492-grey-primer/#findComment-4212009 Share on other sites
