Erren
I'm starting to get to modelling the HQ choices in my army and I'm curious how other people equip their HQs. Here are some of my favorites so far: Simple Legion Praetor 170 Artificer Armour, Digital Lasers, Iron Halo, Melta Bombs, Paragon Blade Simple to model and if you want to add a Void Shield Harness, I would imagine most people don't expect that to be shown on the model. Might be worth magnetizing the backpack in case you want to give him a Jump Pack. Chaplain 110 Artificer Armour, Refractor Field, Melta Bombs, Crozius is a Power Axe Cheap. Fearless. Forge Lord 165 Cataphracti Terminator Armour, Cyber-familiar, Graviton Gun, Power Axe, Rad Grenades Never really looked into making this guy - would the servo arm and power axe combination give him 2 additional attacks? Servo Arm rules say he gets an additional attack and then he would also have 2 melee weapons. Siege Breaker 190 Artificer Armour, Boarding Shield, Melta Bombs, Phosphex Bomb, Power Fist, Void Shield Harness I have a hard time imagining getting much use out of this guy - his Art of Destruction rule seems to want you to be tanking for a Heavy Weapons Squad in the backfield, but his Nuncio-vox and Phosphex Bombs belong on the front lines. Anyways, very curious how other people like their HQs. I can't quite figure out how to equip a Vigilator or Praevian... Slips
Actually, the Siege Breakers rule confers tank hunters to heavy weapons in the squad. So, if you have, say, Tac Vets with Missile Launchers, since they're heavy (even if you can shoot them as assault at half range with the Suspensor web), they gain Tank Hunters for free meaning you could opt to use a Different Veteran Tactic Special Rule. He's also pretty beastly when Slapped onto a full squad of Iron Warrior Siege Tyrants who are each firing 2 Krak Missiles. Woof. Caillum
Vigilator is pretty limited really. Artificer armour, melta bombs, refractor field/combat shield, power weapon. Salamanders ones can take the Zeroth Conductor Shield for an interesting modelling opportunity! :) Praevian is very dependent on the build you're going for. Here's a couple of ideas: - Darkfire Castellax with ETA: bolter (for longest-range Cortex Designator buff) and artificer armour. - multi-melta & dual flamer Castellax: combi-flamer, thunder hammer, Dragonscale storm shield, artificer armour (to run with Salamanders Covenant of Fire).
