Horus Heresy Ultramarine Fluff Help.

So having nominally settled on Ultramarines as my legion of choice, I need some help on a few topics.

 

1) Ok so MK IV is my fav armor and I would like my entire force to be armored in it (I know "its the heresy, do it bro." and I mean to) However I would rather not have it be a Chapter that took place in the battle of Calth, so I was thinking something like the 25 Chapter (not present) anyway if the chapter is not at Calth where would it be?

 

2) What exact books from Forge World do I need to field 30k Ultramarines?

1) I think they're just spread all over. It could be some of them were wiped out at Armatura with the Evocatii but it's hard to say.

 

2) You'll need the main red book (Legiones Astartes Crusade Army List aka LACAL) and Volume 5: Tempest

You need tempest for the ultra marines bonus stuff

Off the top of my head the 7th, 10th, and 19th Chapters were the ones not present at Calth. Every other Chapter 1-23, with the exception of those 3, were at Calth in some capacity. The 24th and 25th Chapters are known as the Evocati, which are the newest inductees into the Legion that are trained by veteran cadres. Some Evocati were stationed on Armatura, as seen in Betrayer when the Shadow Crusade comes knocking.

 

For books you'll need the Red Legion Crusade Army List book for the main bulk of Legion rules and Book 5 - Tempest for the Ultramarines specific units, Rite of War, characters, and Guilliman (not to mention all the beautiful artwork and fluff).

Ah thanks for clearing up the the Evocati, I had heard the term before but I was not sure exactly what it meant. I think I will settle of the 10th Chapter for now then, since 10 is a good number :P

Ok so more questions as I continue to plan. (I spend a lot of time on the theoretical before I move on to the practical

So I like to focus on elites quite a bit, do you guys think the Ultras would have left a fair amount of Marines behind on Macragge (company, chapter, battalion, would it be fluffy include large amounts of Vets/Termies)?

What are the chances of FW releasing models for the Locutarus and the Fulmentarus, should I convert models or wait? (I am in no hurry)

The chances of the Fulmentarus and Locutarus getting models are pretty decent but I think they are quite a long way off release, since we are still waiting for quite a few units from previous books (Tyrant Siege Terminators!!!)
