DarkApostle7
So with the new box set coming out, its finally time for me (and a ton of other people) to carry my word barers force into 30K, but i only hav one problem, since my 40k force is painted as a bronzey-red, i only have half a pot left of my beloved and perfect colour of Mechrite Red foundation So my question is, is there a paint equivalent to this in the current gen of paints, or, failing that, is there a simple WB's colour scheme that i could use instead? Thanks, DA7 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315641-word-bearers-colour/ Share on other sites
Olis
From what I hear, Vallejo Game Colour Heavy Red is close. Or, if you don't want to abandon GW-range alternatives, Khorne Red is pretty close too. Atia
if you want to recreate FW's old metallic red paint scheme http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/catalog/product/600x620/99590102168_WordBearersLegionGalVorbak06.jpg it's basically metall primer -> lighter metal highlites --> several layers of tamiya clear red if you want a flat scheme like here: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/catalog/product/600x620/99560102229_ZarduBladeSlaves07.jpg the new FW airbrush paints are recommended (they are awesome for brush use too!) ^^ don't think you will find a 100% replace for an old GW paint these days :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315641-word-bearers-colour/#findComment-4216006 Share on other sites

Ishagu
Shouldn't Lorgar's armour be Gold? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315641-word-bearers-colour/#findComment-4216055 Share on other sites
Atia
Shouldn't Lorgar's armour be Gold? nope, he has a red one during the Shadow Crusade ^^ (edit: afaik, it's Lorgar's face that should be gold, as he has these strange golden tattoos ...) Ishagu
Just had a look on the FW site, I really like the muted silver and gold armour in the pics... I'm tempted to buy the model just to paint! Calas Typhon
Looks like khorne red is the way i can probabl go with my painting style, itll really annoy me though, my lorgars painted in Mechrite, guess ill pass it off as him being the leader :/ Give it a few washes of thinned purple wash and you can get a reasonably nice word bearers purple if that is what you are looking for! Fire Golem
Shouldn't Lorgar's armour be Gold? He has different suits. I think the FW one is painted grey, he does have a gold one I'm pretty sure, and a red one.
