Legion Falchion... Anyone own one?

My Heresy armies are almost complete.

By mid January my existing projects will be done, but I'll be getting a Falchion as a Christmas present.

So... Who owns one? How has it performed for you and do you have any pictures to share?

I love the look of this vehicle, and I'd have purchased one long ago had it been an option for 40k Marines. Now, as the Heresy is on the verge of a popularity explosion and with games being easier to find I can finally justify owning and painting one of these :-D

I use a Glaive personally but I have faced off against one. It was NASTY. To be fair he didn't use it against my Glaive but used it to kill my infantry something that is excelled, maybe not as bad as a Fellblade but still able to delete 40 breachers, 20 tacticals and a full rapier squadron

I just bought one and I'm in the process of putting it together. I asked the same question on a different forum and basically I got told it's a beast!

It has the potential to kill almost anything in 1 turn off firing. With its super long range and being able to take Armoured Ceramite in a 2.5k game it isn't going to die quickly.

Oddly it does kill troops pretty easyily but it should hope so for the points really.

I've seen a Shadowsword in action, s'about the same. Don't be tricked by the super-heavy destroyer title, unless you've got cheating good luck with getting deathblow shots off. Personally I'm not majorly impressed by it overall, but a single D shot never much impressed me anyway.

Well, it's a large blast and it's on an av14 12 HP platform. Not to mention the Quad Lascannons.

It's the cheapest in points of the large tanks, and I feel that things like a few Scorpius tanks can do the job of the Fellblade...

The Glaive looks pretty good too but will probably require more repositioning as the game goes on and hence might get in trouble at some point...

Falchions are solid, but not exceptional. The nature of it means that every time it fires it can potentially win a game, but don't expect it to perform as well as a Glaive/Fellblade on a game to game basis. It's a great psychological weapon though - people are terrified of it. I play against one regularly and it always has to be target #1, because if you ignore it you risk losing something important in a single shot.

But, keep in mind that a single D blast for ~500 points is not particularly good at all, the lascannons are kind of a moot point as all of that chassis (Fellblade/Glaive/Falchion) get them.

That and compared to the glaive who causes automatic Haywire S8 ap2 deflagrate ignores cover hits going up to D3+1 vs superheavies / gargantuans means that, outside of a 6 from the falchion, it will usually outperform it on a more consistent basis.
