Quick Question Re: Imperial Army

Quick! I've got the opportunity to maybe grab a lot of modern IG/AM/whatever they call it off of Bartertown. I have absolutely no interest in playing IG in modern 40k, but it might be fun to add some mortal troops to the Salamanders force that I'll be starting as soon as I get my hot little hands on the new plastic box.

 

The question is... is anything from 40k Guard useful in 30k?

The "human" infantry and ogryns are all in the Imperial Militia rules as standard, as are scout sentinels. Armoured sentinels don't exist but I'm sure your opponents wouldn't mind. Rough riders sadly don't have rules at the moment (something I'm sad about :() And you can always use the ratlings as abhuman troops or further troopers as necessary.

 

FYI: I believe the Militia rules are in Book 5.

The easiest way to translate IG lists to 30K is everything is viable EXCEPT Chimera chassis vehicles.
