New Rites of War

Since they'll reflect the changing progress of the legions as the war progresses, I imagine the new VIII legion one will look somthing like this:

New Night Lord RoW: The Waiting

• A detachment using this rite of war may only select units with the (infantry) type

• All models in this detachment may not make any attack, movement, shooting, or assault moves. Instead they must simply sit on their bums and rot in depths of the nearest 1st Legion ship.

• A detachment using this rite of war may never select Konrad Curze as a Lord of War. He's to busy being batman on Ultramar.

Win Because Curze "Is the Batman" and noone, Mortal or Otherwise, trumps the Batman.

Hold up.

Last I Read (while the thread was being updated, so its been a while), The FW studio was making rules for Actual Atramentar, not a RoW. And that they were too early on into the design process to properly comment on.

......you'd better not be screwing with me.......

BRB Lemmy Dig for info.

That was a rumor from the open day, I think. You'll probably find it if you search "Atramentar" in one of the news threads.

But yeah I remember seeing it too, that they're almost definitely going to be the next Night Lords unique unit with their own models. Probably to come with Thramas, so still a ways away.

Which still leaves the question of what the heck the new NL RoW will be?

Man that figures, as soon as I figure out a conversion idea and a terminator-centric list to run with my Night Lords they announce they are making Atramentar. :cussing-A. I just can't keep up with FW. Hell when I started 30k World Eaters 4 years ago I had painted 20 marines and a Contemptor with the old Legion symbol when they suddenly release a new legion symbol and dread.

At least you're not in my boat where the LITERAL DAY AFTER I finish Kit bashing my Templar Brethren, they go ahead and release the kit for sale.

But, yeah, about those Rites of War, eh? (DONT JUDGE ME I'M CANADIAN)

So, while we can safely assume that each of the 2 new Specific RoWs the Legions will be getting to demonstrate evolving warfare trends/tactics, beyond the previously mentioned Destroyer Cadre RoW, what else would y'all like to see?

Artillery Brigade?

Recon/Scouting Force?

Might of the Legion Armory?

I think you mentioned Dreadhead, and that probably needs to be a thing. Could reflect things like the Word Bearers waking a large number of their Annunake or that part of Betrayer where they desperately have to wake up all the Dreads on the Conqueror.

We can also be reasonably certain one of the generic Rites is the Delegatus one...

Bike/jetbike RoW?

Rite of Choom?

*phew*

Glad to know I'm not insane tongue.png

The Hesh Kadesh rite of War:

"If you have two drop podded dreadnoughts and 3 grav rapiers, gain +6 to the vehicle damage chart."

Now now, no need to be snide.

>_>

Haha it was just in good humor I swear :P

...tricksy Alpha hobbits....

OK, so from a post Marshal Loss made over on h30k right after the Open Day:

Emperor's Children represents Marius's Third Company - Kakophoni with Relentless

Sons of Horus represents how well equipped they are - Long March

Word Bearers involves masses of Gal Vorbak because Word Bearers believe that morals are for cereal boxes

Iron Warriors is themed around them charging through a hail of their own barrages

That's all I've seen from my friend/other people combined

I forgot about the Iron Warriors one, but that sounds insanely awesome. Somewhere else he mentioned that a lot of the new Legion-specific RoWs are based off stories in the BL fiction (specifically the IW one), so...

So everybody knows - the reason Atramentar rules were mentioned in my posts about the open day, is because I specifically asked that question. It doesn't mean they are in the next book, or the Rite of War is themed around them.

Thanks for finding my post LetsYouDown!

Don't mess with my emotions here slips. Altramentar are like the one unit I NEED for my Night lords. Imagine accurate deepstrikers all armed with… CHAINGLAIVES. imagine all the mass rends and terror to my enemies. If this wrong slips then instead of me admitting I probably shouldn't have gotten to attached to a random tidbit from the internet I will have to be like a night lord. I will find you even if I have to search ALL of Quebec and I will make you take a fear test. Though seeing as your in cover at the moment you may make your leadership save without any modifiers.

I'm pretty excited for the new ROW though I'm completely unsure with what our new will be. How about a row that gives me MORE THAN 1 HEAVY SUPPORT!?

I await you in my simulated Inwitian Environment AKA Canada in Winter with a Storm Shield and Black-Bladed power Weapon :p

But if you haven't read the post above yours lol gives you a bit more context since y'know, he was the source of that particular tidbit (unless you weren't Marshall Loss, at which point forgive me :x)

Ah yes Ironfire. That will be awesome, mass artillery (the short story uses the ones the Lion found and well you know gave to the Lord of Iron :)) with Spartans full of Breachers going full speed just behind the mass explosive death. Me likey.
