The_Gorgon
Had a great idea for a lost legion army literally as I was waking this morning I've tried to get my rough ideas down here still very much a wip if anyone can offer any criticism both constructive or otherwise please lay it on, especially the guys that have done the wonderful lost legions so far Background : based off British warfare through the ages very infantry heavy Primarch: Horatio the Lionheart Colours: bright silver with red shoulder guards and a blue lions head motiff Specialisation : Void warfare, infantry heavy warfare Special rules: volley fire if a unit armed with bolters doesn't move that turn they may fire one more shot than normal Maybe a rule that allows legion weapon batteries to be taken as non compulsory troops Must take an extra compulsory troops choice May never take more bikes or tanks than infantry Special units : The Highlanders : close combat specialists that wear void hardened mark three armour and wield huge two handed power swords The longbows (name not final): Recon marines that use specialist sniper rifles that get better the closer the enemy is thinking maybe rending that gets easier as enemies close in Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315734-xi-legion-the-void-lions/ Share on other sites
Hesh Kadesh
Might want to take that to the homebrew rules or special projects. If yu are looking for some ideas there is the Brotherhood of the Lost which is a collection of many different 'lost legion' projects collected into one alternative universe. In regards to legion rules, the 'may stand still and fire twice' sounds an awful lot like Fury of the Legion which comes with stipulations. It's not really overpowered, it is Bolters after all. Scoring Weapon Batteries...I'm assuming you mean Rapier Batteries... eh. Not entirely sure what they have to do with Void Warfare so much, and despite initially 'hellno', it is not so bad, as they wkn't be moving. There isn't actually much rules wise thst makes the legion worth taking and there is no fluff that makes them intriguing enough to collect. Ishagu
I like the idea but the volley fire rule sounds too similar to fury of the Legion. You're definitely picking the right time to consider making a lot legion! The_Gorgon
Yeah sorry guys kind of rushed the rules this morning as I was shattered from waking up early the general idea is that they are based off of British military from napoleonic and agincourt times So the highlanders are based off Scottish claymore wielders the recon guys off of Welsh longbow guys. The idea of the weapons batteries I wanted to try and replicate that infantry and artillery mode of warfare from the napoleonic times. There's still plenty to work out yet in regards to rules perhaps a mod could put this in the right forum as I foolishly put this here in my lack of sleep induced mania lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315734-xi-legion-the-void-lions/#findComment-4218652 Share on other sites
