Galaxy in flames before False Gods?

should be ok^^ the audio book versions (or atleast the ones i have) just follow the Legion plot afaik, so you just need to know that Horus got corrupted on Davin by Erebus (and Horus plans the HH now^^), Loken is the good guy alongside Torgaddon, the Word Bearers brought Lodges into the Legion - oh, and Tarvitz is a buddy of Loken and Garro, Lucius got face punched by Loken so he dislikes him ^^

or in other words: it's not like there is some game braking stuff in the first two books which isn't already known from the basic fluff^^

I listened to Horus Rising and LOVED it Atia! Torgaddon is so cool aha, really a boss. When I get a good version of it I'll go back but when GW are charging triple the price of the paper back to listen to it... Something is wrong :/

I listened to Promethean Sun and that was okay, some good Vulkan and Ferrus action, but I'm eager for more of the Lunar Wolves, Horus was just like the Damn fonz in that meeting on the ship haha

If your using the audio books then you miss out on the human side of the story, from my understanding. I personally enjoyed it but different strokes for different folks.

If your hungry for some more Luna wolves action then you'll want to go through false gods first. Imagine astartes vs zombies and you aren't far off in terms of the action.

I'm reading galaxy in flames so far and it's pretty good so far, though I haven't enjoyed either galaxy in flames or false gods as much as horus rising.

I'm listening to the unabridged ones where possible and they seemed to have other stuff in about non-astartes! So it's all good :)

Wait don't skip false gods! In my opinion it's actually the best of the three! The audience gets to witness the exact moment Horus falls and it's spectacular. Also there is a really tender and particularly human moment between Horus and one of his former officers that serves as the last time Horus is truly himself.

Sounds sweet and what I'm after! Hmm, I'll scour the net for someone willing to lend me the audio files mayhaps then...

Literally the exact moment...he just chooses to go traitor pretty much on the flip of a coin with no thought put into it. The scene is extremely badly written

Two differing exact opinions... On the internet? No way! :P

I guess i'll listen and decide for myself

Really? I mean it's no Oedipus The King but I thought it was plausible. We get hints of his descent previously in the book and in the prior one and this builds until Horus opens the door into the dark. At that point the ruinous powers overtake him, so I guess it seems sudden but to me at least it seems possible given the nature of the warhammer universe.

I would offer to lend you the actual book copy I have but my girlfriend has stolen it along with most of my sweatshirts hahaha

On phone so I can't use the tags but *spoilers* ahead for op. Erebus tries to trick horus in the dream state he's in and after showing him all these future events Magnus shows up and exposes everything. But Horus still goes with erebus after finding out he was being manipulated the whole time...Usually when you find out someone has been manipulating you, you're less apt to listen to what they have to say
