Chapter 666

Red Skullz

Recommended Posts

Got a big (like massive) bits haul from a good friend. So instead of buying the Betrayal at Calth box I made my version of a Grey knight.

Fanaticism and wards against evil was key elements in my interpretation.

Thank you Rurik :)

The base is done. I'm using the sand mixed with pva glue and bicarbonate soda on a regular basis now. I like the texture it creates.

He looks a touch more Blanche-esque than regular Grey Knights. msn-wink.gif

Really liking Brother Dauger. The fusion of 40k tech and Middle Ages aesthetic works a charm.

could not have said anything better. these are awesome, not 100% sold on the dread, but I'm warming up to him. this is an example of the coolest aspect of this hobby. where a person makes a force totally his, veering away of the norm......well frikkin done. you have my respect!

@Bloodbath: Thank you very much :) For me it came down to making space marine of any kind interesting to me. I don't know how many times I've tried but I've never hit the mark. Until now that is :) It seems like it's coming across how much I'm enjoying this.

@Noctem Cultor: Thank you :) In hindsight maybe I would've done a few changes to the dread but I'm visualizing how I'm going to paint it and I think it will all come together in the end.

Looking good, very interesting perspective on the knights, and what makes this such a great hobby.

I'm also not sold on the knight. I think the tabard ruins it - it seems attached to the waist, which obscures the lower torso, making the legs seem longer and body shorter.

If you attached pennants between the legs, like on an imperial knight, then it would be much improved. Otherwise, top conversion.

I got a question on how my truescale Grey Knights look beside a HHH. I threw in a stock Space Marine as well.

Praise the Emperor for his sacrifice,

as He endures so shall we.

We who are Hunters of Daemons,

shall strive in his name eternally.
