Red Skullz
Got a big (like massive) bits haul from a good friend. So instead of buying the Betrayal at Calth box I made my version of a Grey knight. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a607/tomkristians/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG2395_1_1_zpso8bdqfr9.jpg Fanaticism and wards against evil was key elements in my interpretation. Dosjetka
I'm liking it. A darker, more sinister twist on a Chapter I thought held no more surprises. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4219776 Share on other sites
Red Skullz
@Olis: indeed, and I take that as a big compliment :) @Dosjetka: Cheers, high praise indeed :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4219928 Share on other sites
Red Skullz
Well inspired by Kari of Iron Sleet fame and his fantastic dread knight here's my take on a truescale dreadnought for the 666th. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a607/tomkristians/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG2399_1_zpsivstbhmh.jpg More pics https://bigbossredskullz.wordpress.com/2015/11/13/chapter-666-2-true-scale-dreadnought/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4223993 Share on other sites
Dosjetka
Mh. Less keen on the dread. The torso is too small for the legs, I think. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4224862 Share on other sites
Red Skullz
Initially I thought the same but I'm warming up to it. More work done on Galis the Wrathful. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a607/tomkristians/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG2403_1_zpsuhdoc1mw.jpg More pics https://bigbossredskullz.wordpress.com/2015/11/14/chapter-666-3-galis-the-wrathful/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4224934 Share on other sites

Red Skullz
Thank you Rurik :) The base is done. I'm using the sand mixed with pva glue and bicarbonate soda on a regular basis now. I like the texture it creates. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a607/tomkristians/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG2407_1_zpsd3i5efvl.jpg More pics https://bigbossredskullz.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/chapter-666-4/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4226041 Share on other sites

Dosjetka
Really liking Brother Dauger. The fusion of 40k tech and Middle Ages aesthetic works a charm. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4228086 Share on other sites
Red Skullz
Cheers :D I'm also very fond of this one as I felt I really nailed the upper armour. Had to re-sculpt the large portions of it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4228813 Share on other sites
Adeptus-Alaska
He looks a touch more Blanche-esque than regular Grey Knights. Really liking Brother Dauger. The fusion of 40k tech and Middle Ages aesthetic works a charm. could not have said anything better. these are awesome, not 100% sold on the dread, but I'm warming up to him. this is an example of the coolest aspect of this hobby. where a person makes a force totally his, veering away of the norm......well frikkin done. you have my respect! Noctem Cultor
It's a nice change of pace, some interesting work. Personally I'd try to create a lower torso/waist around the same level as the shield on the banner, other than that I like the design. Red Skullz
@Bloodbath: Thank you very much :) For me it came down to making space marine of any kind interesting to me. I don't know how many times I've tried but I've never hit the mark. Until now that is :) It seems like it's coming across how much I'm enjoying this. @Noctem Cultor: Thank you :) In hindsight maybe I would've done a few changes to the dread but I'm visualizing how I'm going to paint it and I think it will all come together in the end. Xenith
Looking good, very interesting perspective on the knights, and what makes this such a great hobby. I'm also not sold on the knight. I think the tabard ruins it - it seems attached to the waist, which obscures the lower torso, making the legs seem longer and body shorter. If you attached pennants between the legs, like on an imperial knight, then it would be much improved. Otherwise, top conversion. Red Skullz
Thank you :) I'm not sure I agree on the tabard for the dread as I did much the same on my chaos knights. I'll leave it be for a while and think on it :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4232031 Share on other sites
Pearson73
As above; the mix of parts and character of the marines are great, though I'm not 100% with the Dread Knight. I too think the torso is a little small. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4232059 Share on other sites

Red Skullz
I got a question on how my truescale Grey Knights look beside a HHH. I threw in a stock Space Marine as well. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a607/tomkristians/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG2433_1_zpsyvmq6xec.jpg More on how I truescale and on the subject in general https://bigbossredskullz.wordpress.com/2015/11/25/chapter-666-7-what-is-truescale/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/315801-chapter-666/#findComment-4235381 Share on other sites
