Torn between two units

i have 15 assault marines left from my Blood Angel days, and I have thought of using them in my HH army.

 

Now should I use them as a troop choice as legion assault marines 15 man squad with jump packs

 

Or should I use them as 15 man squad of legion destroyer squad with jump packs

 

Comes to the same price but I gain counter attack with the destroyer squad where my assault marines are troop choices

 

I can put together any combo as needed

 

Just which way should they go

1) Destroyers are max 10 men so you'd have 2 Squads.

  • You'd need 2 Bolt Pistols per Destroyer and a missile launcher because thats their main attraction: Rad Missiles.
  • Only the Sarge can take fancy gear outside of the Missile Toting Marines and those are 1 in 5.
  • They aren't an assault unit contrary to any beliefs. They're mainly a Bodyguard for Moritats and/or short range shooty units with Counter-Assault capability.
  • Phosphex Bombs.

2) Assault marines are the ones who pack a CC Punch.

  • They have 1 in 5 Access to Power Weapons +1 with the Sarge and have cheaper ablative bodies.
  • Can Score and are a Troops choice.
  • Can Take Combat Shields for a 6++ vs shooting or a 5++ in CC.
  • Can quickly get bloated:
    • 20 men, 5 Power Weapons, Melta Bombs, Combat Shields, Artificer Armor on the Sarge costs 625 Points.

Both have Squad Wide Melta Bombs.

Both need Characters to truly shine.
