Questions on timeline and magic

So there would have been Librarians on Monarchia when the Legion was made to kneel. Ok so in that case Word Bearer librarians would have had a few years playing around with sorcery and other chaos warp powers before Nikea and the heresy.

Oh definitely. Going by the Battle for the Abyss, all of the Librarians were gathered into the Chapter of the Void, something like 700 IIRC. And they acted as a type of RnD division, presumably to create bastardised warp tech like the warp flasks seen in Know No Fear, The Purge and the Unburdened as well as the warp mines seen in Battle for the Abyss. Probably responsible for more than a few of the various rituals the Dark Apostles use.

Ironic since the Legion would evolve to hate "the sorcerous witches".

So the Word Bearers dislike sorcerous. Is that because their role is effectively taken by the Chaplains, and they don't like sharing power?

Back to 30k would these Sorcerous be attached to other chapters for the fighting during the heresy?

1.)That's the assumption that jumps to mind. That and most of the sorcerers we see aren't exactly the religious type. You know, less praying, more bartering.

2.) I would say yes. Seeing as the XVII managed to hide 100,000 Legionaries, three Abyss-class kingships and all the war material to keep them fully armed for war, I imagine there's room for Librarians to be scattered throughout the Legion in plain sight.
