Of all the legions the XVIITH were considered the most fanatical of the Traitor legions, but even a group of fanatics such as they could never achieve such individual notoriety. The VIIIth legion though had someone even more fanatical then the xviith most zealot chaplain.

They had the monster known as Noctus.

Nostramin born and raised Noctus was the son of a preacher who traveled Nostramos city sprawls helping those in need, growing up on the streets as a youth Noctus witnessed all manner of horrors from the gangfighting of the notorious gangs to the oppression of the civilian population by the upper echelons of society. Luckily for the youth he was born within the time period of his arrival.

Noctus and his father were some of the few citizens of nostramo that never received the wrath of the night Haunter, his father was obsessed with preaching to whoever would listen that the coming of the night Haunter was a divine sign that the citizens were at fault and that lives of sin brought this calamity to their lives. However most gangsters weren't happy to hear this and took it upon themselves to punish the preacher man by torturing his innocent son.

Noctus handled all manner of tortures upon his mind body and soul, the most obvious being the scarring of his flesh upon his left eye brought about by pressing his face into a pit of shouldering embers. As fate would have it that night was to be the first night that Noctus truly understood fear. Not of the tortures inflicted upon him but by his savior.

Noctus was torn from the embers by a hulking shadow of a brute and then covered by the blood of his captors as the night Haunter tore the gangsters from limb to limb, cowering in fear with blisters forming on his face from the burnt flesh slowly starting to clot on his face.

The last thing he recalled before passing out and being discovered by the local population next morning was a shadow weeping as it strode pass his hiding place.

Years passed and the emperor came to Nocturne, amongst the first influx of recruits was a young man with burnt features. Throughout his ascension the apothecarium tried to treat his scarring and bring him to a standard that was expected by the imperium as a whole, always he refused stating that it's a reminder of the lessons life had to offer.....

Part 2 to come...

So here we have my practice scheme, may I present Hyaenidae the king of games.
now I tried to capture similarities to our captains personal miniature that was made for his astral claws army.
I also wanted to experiment with new ways of doing faces after all these faces are what is capturing a real individual feel for my army.
