depthcharge12
I honestly wish Alan Bligh could sense my lust for a map of Terra in M30 with all of the irreparable grim dark that has happened to it and the giant oceans now emptied and filled with cities. That would be sweet and give us a better idea of who is where. Machine God
I simply can't accept Albia as post England...because that means I'd have to read all Death Gaurd voices with a Cockney accent You know, cockney isn't isn't the only accent here, brother. "U wot m8???" That's not strictly cockney. @Olis - No its not cockney at all its Leet Speak!!! Slap him with a Warning Moderator! Edit: Missed a word out. Brother Heinrich
Still don't know how they managed to "boil away the oceans". That bit has never sat well with me. Do they not understand how convection, evaporation, and condensation work? Do they not understand how convection, evaporation, and condensation work? @Brother Heinrich - Perhaps all the water got consumed by the populations and used in industry? Slips
They drained all the water into subsurface reservoirs and the little left over is what boiled? Brother Heinrich
"Consumed by populations" - people still pee in the 31st millennium to my knowledge. Giant reservoirs is plausible, except that building reservoirs the size of oceans to store oceans seems a little ridiculous, especially given how bass ackwards earth is at the Unification. It just seems like another convenient way to create a road warrior-esque wasteland. Even if people pollute the living dog :cuss out of the water, it's still gonna be there and it's still gonna evaporate, turn into rain, and then melt your house and family because it's full of acidic chemicals and radioactive fallout. Its one of the possible downsides of World Building with the rule of cool especially in a science-fantasy universe: Somethings will make NO sense whatsoever but, damn, will it sound cool to some. Lazarine
I always assumed that after approximately 25,000 years of building colony ships and terraforming other worlds that more water had been leaving Terra than was being replaced. I imagine that a lot of what is left is probably stored in reservoirs as it has become a more precious resource than in the modern era. The wars that 'boiled the oceans' probably just ended the period in which there were still large static bodies of water, there is still probably some rainfall and lakes, just nothing large enough to be described as seas. DuskRaider
It's been retconned where now the Dusk Raiders apologize after they wipe out an enemy. Sorry boot that. Pariah Mk.231
Maybe thats all the Night Lords' "terror" broadcasts are, they're preemptively apologizing for what they're about to do, but nobody can understand their accent over poor quality speakers and it just scares the piss out of anyone that hears it. Kol Saresk
Hey, some of scariest moments in Doctor Who was when David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston started apologizing, because you knew somebody was going to die.
