I think a Kharybdis and this being able to share a slot is incredible for just nixing a squadron first turn. Drop, unleash 10 S6 Missiles into a rear or side armour, followed by 4 TLS6 Calivers and a couple of Grav Blasts (or even just one with a claw in the back) Medusa ain't the issue they once were.

Damn, this thing is HUGE. I need 8 of them. For the Warriors, the Hands, the Fists, the Guard, the Salamanders, the Eaters, the First, and the Rout.

What about your own legion for the BotL ?

It's just disappointing that they didn't fix the grav bombard against vehicles.  The fact that you get double hull point damage but can barely glance a rhino is just insulting.

Also, unless I'm getting the rules mixed up, isn't it weird that you can swap out both claws for siege drills?  Once you have one siege drill, isn't the only effect of upgrading the second claw to lose the option of using the claw's profile?  Having one of each gives you the option of using either profile right?

The option of taking a dreadnought drop pod makes these very viable.  The storm cannon/volkite/phosphex dakka beast loadout looks particularly tasty, albeit perhaps not 400 points of tasty.  I don't think the Kharibdys assault loadout is going to be as common, but I do love that they included this option (though rules lawyers might point out that it's illegal since there's no such thing as a 'Kharibids' Assault Claw).

I pray that this is much less of an headache to assemble than the Contemptor because I need to have one.

It has more pieces than a Contemptor, but to be fair it was a breeze to put together. ForgeWorld have included instructions for the body, and most of it was simple - for the base body the most difficult part was the posing of the legs / knee, but even that was ok.

I've got a post in the General PCA Section with pictures of the assembly instructions. The trickiest part of the assembly were the Siege Claw and Drills, in that it wasn't clear the order the pieces needed to go in, and that depending on posing of the arms you needed to spend a while bending the cabling.

Is that the regular 60mm Dread base?

This is akin to seeing a gorgeous model and only noticing her shoes. Most of us haven't even realised that this Dreadnought has a base yet.

Just wondering, because I play Zone Mortalis on a regular basis :D

It's an 80 mm base.

So aside from a cool looking model, what's the best tabeletop use of this guy? Infantry mulcher? Fortification destroyer? Vehicle wrecker?

He lands in his pod and stays inside for a turn shooting at infantry.

Following turn he exists and assaults an elite unit, mc or vehicles.

Best loadout is claw and the Leviathan storm cannon :-)

If anyone mange to pick up the Siege Dreadnought during the Warhammer 40k open day that Warhammer World or get there order soon.  It just to check what the Autocannon arm would look like on a Contemptor Dreadnought.

It just due to a conversion idea I might try out.  But unsure if the Leviathan Dreadnought Autocannon arm maybe out of scale for a Contemptor or not?

Hopeful also pick up a Leviathan Dreadnought for my own Iron Warriors army in the near future as well :D

I may have read/misunderstood (I don't actually game that much, or well), but doesn't the Grav Bombard have the potential to score 18 for Armour Penetration? I get that statistically, it won't score high enough to glance AV10 half of the time, but the potential is there for a dual-Grav Leviathan to strip a Land Raider of all it's hull points in one round of shooting, no?

Not sure how the Graviton Collapse works, actually; is it S+ (3D6 pick the highest), which would definitely make it useless, or 3D6, which is alot more palatable (and actually give it a 1/2 chance of penning and 1/8 chance of penning a rhino, and 5/54 pen + 5/72 glance on LRs).

+ Edit :

Actually, 3D6 rolls 11+ 50% of the time (average is 10.5, so 50% are 11+, 50% are 10-), and rolls 10 1/8 of the time...

It doesn't have a strength value so it literally is 3D6 in total.

Edit: here's a chart showing the 3D6 probabilities:
