Theredknight
Problem with the calth box is you can't make a decent army out of it alone, at 2k this will get taken apart with any army with a specialist unit in it. It's quite squishy and doesn't have enough power to deal with the general threats at 2k (which is the absolute minimum I play) So although it's great to use the box set to bolster the bulk of troops, (expensive at fw!!) your still going to have to invest in things that finish it off and make it the legion you chose, otherwise you may as well use a generic legion list and get the bonuses associated. (Furious charge) Il give you some tips. As EC you are forced to challenge in every combat, therefore in order not to lose 2 ld when your sarge dies to a power weapon, you have to prepare him for it. You will always take eidolon, as he is the greatest hero we have currently, don't take phoenix guard If you want usable terminators and palatines are very glass hammer. So why not paint as ec and practice with generic legion rules, then youl know what sort of things youl need. A deredeo is a solid choice, it always does well for me, as does a laser rapier destroyer vindicator. I don't like that calth contemptor, but why don't you use them both? One as a kheresnaught, other armed with 2 fists and grav guns (haywire) Plasmas and meltas are very niche, and expensive! Plasmas maybe.. Depending on the adversary, but as they are they will be targeted and destroyed ASAP. Meltas can be good but lots of armoured ceremite there (I take it on armour) Drop pods are ok, if your sons of horus, Ravens or night lords. SlickSamos
To be honest it's only by playing them that you're going to get a feel for them. Also I'd do some conversion work on them so for example you get a blade on your Praetor etc... Theredknight
Thanatar is taghmata omnisia list I believe. You will need to ally a detachment in (including 1hq, 1 troop minimum) Do you mean castellex battle automata? They can be taken with praevan or forge Lord (I think that's cortex controller) you will also need the mechanicum army book fir updated rules, if you wanted that also. They aren't all that really though. Sorry bro, not like 40k allied charts!
