Ifrit446
Hey all, I've recently picked up some 30k and 40k kits that I want to use for my pre-heresy Alphas and need your thoughts and feelings. What I currently have and what I'm thinking they should be made into: Battle of Calth: -Dark Apostle (converting into Armilus Dynat) -Termie Lord (converted praetor perhaps??) -5 termies (possible Lernaean termies in the making) -Contemptor (dual-kheres assault cannons) -30 marines split up into big tactical squads, wet squads or support squads Other bits: -Another contemptor (also dual kheres assault cannons) -10-15ish unbuilt vanilla marines with a plethora of special weapons -15 Grey Knights (which I'm thinking of making a veteran squad or Seeker squad) -Alpharius Conversion -3 to 4 rhinos -Possibly 3 to 4 other HQ choices So my question is where do you guys think would be most advantageous place to start?? I will be playing mostly pickup games so I don't need to be overly competitive but I DO play against a tryhard marine player that needs a good @$$-kicking from time to time. So for my Alphas, I was thinking of maybe doing a Rite of War with a lot of veterans/seekers to represent the elitist force of the Alpha Legion. On the other hand, I could keep the squads simple and just use the 30 Calth marines with the unbuilt vanillas and have two blobs of 20 tacticals. Thanks for the help in advance, -Ifrit Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316138-the-unseen-path-starting-30k-alpha-legion/ Share on other sites
Terminus
Easiest place to start would be Pride of the Legion. Sniper or Tankhunter veterans in Rhinos, deep striking terminators, mortis contemptors for horde/transport hate. Against marines, plasma seekers are a good choice (or just support squads with alpharius).
