Brother Achiles
Hi guys I recently bought the betrayal at calth box set and would like some help in suggestions on how to build it into a nice imperial fist legion. Imperial fists due to me playing Black Templars in 40k and wanting to keep up with fluff. Was thinking the following but needing help with troops choice. HQ Praetor Chaplain Troops Possibly 2 x tac support squads (5 man) or reconnaissance squads Elites 5 x terms as in box dread with assault cannon 2 x 10 man vert tac squad, plas and missile launcher Heavy support I recently got a sicaran Please aid on any thoughts. I also have a 40k apothecary that I don't use and want to use in heresy, already has mark IV helmet etc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316188-starting-a-legion-with-betrayal-at-calth-box-set/ Share on other sites
Reyner
Tactical Support Squads and Recon Squads do not count as Compulsory troops choices due to their Support Squad rule - you would have 2 10 man (minimum squad size in 30k) Tactical Squads or if you used a Pride of the Legion Rite of War you could have the Terminators as Troops but you would also need to run one of the Tactical Squads as a Veteran Tactical squad (they can be 5 man if you like). Slips
None of your troops selections are compulsory choices. Read the 1d4chan article and get a lo-down on what you can actually build in 30k because its similarly-different to 40k https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/Tactics/Space_Marine_Legion_List_(30k) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316188-starting-a-legion-with-betrayal-at-calth-box-set/#findComment-4228130 Share on other sites
Aeternus
Same points as above. If you played using the PotL RoW, you could move the vets and TDA to troops. This would leave an elite slot open, where you could fit in the apothecary. Then you could still take the TAC support squad. Maybe make one of the vets an 8 man squad, and add the apoc and chaplain and put them in a rhino. If you're new to 30k though, remember, terminators don't have deep strike by default. I second slipstreams, have a read through the 1d4chan page to get the basics Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316188-starting-a-legion-with-betrayal-at-calth-box-set/#findComment-4228176 Share on other sites
