Woah hush, Derius looks so much more badass now! You really nailed the Executioners fibe on that guy!

Naryn, the temies look great! I really like your painting style.

It's a honour to fight beside you guys! biggrin.png

Alrighty, I have some updates too! Finished part 2/3 of the Legion Auxilia this weekend. 5 men from Victoria Miniatures. Next up, the penal guard with two flamers. I'm really looking foward to painting those!

This week, I'll be assembling the penal guard and perhaps some more Retaliators too. C&C welcome!

Thanks guys!

Naryn, the Terminators look good! I love seeing the Mantis Warriors paint scheme and I like the dust covering on their armor.

Leviathus, The Auxilia look fantastic. It is a shame their main mission is to catch oncoming bullets with their teeth...but then I see you Retaliators and I know those meat shields have a sacred purpose. smile.png Also, for the AC with the sheathed chainsword, what are you replacing that handle with where the hand was cut away from?

If I could make a suggestion cut away one of the trophy racks from the chaos vehicle upgrade sprue. That cylinder bits is close to the size of a handle.

Gentlemen, I too am honored to fight at your side.

Thanks Hush! I wanted to fix the handle with a hobby knife but it's a real pain to do. So I thought about using a plasticard tube but I'll have to see if they're the right sizes. But thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into that too :)

Awesome work everyone, I especially love the Breaker of Swords, that guy looks hard as nails. It's been a while, but the Exorcists have not been sitting idle!

The Exorcists deployed terminator squads regularly during their boarding operations and in other battle zones designated as "Zones Mortalis". However, of particular note is Squad Eskandar, who have been sighted multiple times in a rarely seen pattern of Terminator armor that is speculated to be the ancient Saturnyne pattern. The pattern's armor is noticeably thicker than that of the more common Indomitus pattern, and to face a warrior clad in such a suit within the narrow confines of a Zone Mortalis environment is a truly terrifying prospect.

Wow!!! Some great stuff got produced over the holiday season!

Leviathus, I love the look of your Auxilia.  The VicLamb miniatures mesh really nicely with how I imagine the Tyrant's Legion to look. And those Retaliators, wow! The one in MK V is definitely my favorite, but both are just dripping with character.  I'm excited to see more of them!

Raeho, those Saturnyne Terminators are awesome! Those miniatures have a seriously imposing look to them, and I love the freehand on the pauldrons.  How do they compare, size-wise, to the current plastic models?

Thanks guys!

Naryn, they actually are comparable in size to the modern terminators, if only because their pauldrons are so huge. These models have aged pretty gracefully. Hopefully I can get more to make a TH/SS squad.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, it has been over a week since my last update so I will show off a small morsel of my work thus far.

Just know the sternguard are on their way to deliver retribution led by my WIP Venerable Sergeant Goth Henback, The Rain-Maker.

Rain-maker? I wonder how he got that title.

Upon his lips he utters the command "fire" and the sound to follow is the explosions of lightning as bolts burst into life and their hollowed casings raining down as each round is spent.

Hey hey everyone!

Yes, the Legion Auxilia is done! Dang, took me long enough. furious.gif Again, no fluff this time; I have no inspiration whatsoever. Ugh.

Anyway, here are the pictures, enjoy!

So now I can paint the Astral Claws! *rubs hands* Thanks for looking everyone, and C&C welcome as always.

Excellent job everyone! Nice to see those Victoria miniatures live up to the expectations! Mine at least, and the retaliator looks cool also.

As for my own work: ive had alot on my plate. I have been building my apothecary (im running Lamenters in this campaign for those that have forgotten me). Ive also put together some mote tacticals and my assault marines. My to do list looks like this:

- build 5-10 more tacticals

- build 5 sternguard (not included in the 1000p of this tale, but i might aswell)

- drill barrels and base everything

- prime errythang

- figure out a better colourscheme

- build a proper liggtbox and figure out why my pictures look crap

- paint entire army

- write fluff

I hope to have some progress within the next week, but i have alot in school still, so no promises.

  • 1 year later...

So last week I had clicked on the messages tab instead of notifications with my oversized thumb on my ipad. What had come up was an old message I received regarding this project log. So I browsed through the messages which then led me to look up this thread and even my old Astral Claws. I felt a bit guilty about letting this project fall off the face of Badab in favor of my Emperor's Children.

Seeing as my group is now into Heralds of Ruin and it does not take much to build up a team, one that I want to build is the Executioners. I want to do right by these Laughing Axemen and to this project that was filled with great hobbyist who pulled together terrific fluff and minis. I know that this force will not be 1000 points but it will be a bit of a penenace for myself.

So to begin...

Badab Pie

A long, long time ago,

I can still remember when the Astral Claws got all riled.

And I knew if they got the chance

They would secede and make a dash.

And maybe they would be triumphant for awhile.

But the big guns made me shiver

With every salvo they delivered.

They could not let the loyalists take another closer step

so the Astral Claws called for reinforcements!

So bye bye Badabian Pie,

Had the Mantis Warriors screw the Fire Hawks and all they did was cry

With Lamenters around the corner with their flamers set to fry

And all the Executioners screaming what a good day to die

Oh what a lovely day to die

----

Well, to start I have my Sternguard and two tacticals built for my team. May I introduce Goth Henback and two yet to be named squadmates.

Looking forward to seeing them done . Man I might have to move to Texas .

Thanks! I dare say there is plenty of room in the Great State of Texas. You just have to get here before all of Californians do.

Lovely work on the three Executioners, definitely looking forward to seeing more models!

Thank you! At the moment I only have three more to build. The whole kill team is a Chaplain, a Terminator, one vanguard, one sternguard, two tactical marines, and two assault marines. I have Derius Cort and one other assault marine that have been saved from becoming Night Lords.

I also have a dreadnought built for the Executioners that was going to go NL but... he's going back to his roots!

May I introduce the Venerated Otho:

He who still treads

The Unending

The Walking Death

gallery_55057_12990_128726.jpg

Like I said, this guy was built for my Zone Mortalis force but when I abandoned it he was going to go to a NL army that has been put on hold until infinity runs out. However, I need to do something about that shoulder pad on the marine he is...hugging very hard. This guy was going into a 30k force so a NL crushin a BA was irresistible. I wonder if I can remove some iconography and pass the fella off as a Howling Griffon?

He still needs some work and I also want to get him a FW plasma cannon. His current gun looks puny in my opinion. Also, you can see what I will use as the base for my upcoming Death-Speaker Rahl, the Pale King, in the background.
