FLAKPANZER
Hi all, On P.266 of Horus Heresy Book Three - Extermination, the Imperial Fists Rite of War lists the following limitation: "Detachments using this Rite of War may not deploy models using the Deep Strike rule (and units which must deploy by this method therefore cannot be chosen as part of the detachment). On P.267, a Teleportation Transponder is listed as "Legion Specific Wargear" for the Imperial Fists. Its description reads as follows: "Any Imperial Fists Legion Terminator squad or Imperial Fists Legion Command squad equipped with Terminator armour may have the Deep Strike rule for +15 points for the squad. Any Imperial Fists independent character in Terminator armour may have Deep Strike for +10 points per model." Does this mean that if a Fists force takes the Rite of War described above, the prohibition on Deep Strike would be in place regardless of whether or not Teleportation Transponders were purchased for Terminator squads? Thanks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316367-imperial-fists-rite-of-war-and-deep-strike/ Share on other sites
furstyferret
Hi, I'd say so, yes. You could pay for the transponder but the restrictions of the Rite would still apply. I guess it's a great piece of wargear when not used with that particular Rite. Lord Asvaldir
Without a doubt, you can't deep strike with terminators when you use the stone gauntlet rite of war. Giving a squad a teleporter transponder doesn't overrule the stone gauntlet restriction.
