Zebulon
Currently still very much WIP, but how do people feel about this non-traditional Salamanders green? http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e187/JH1980/Mobile%20Uploads/image_24.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316417-chapter-colours-in-legion-times/page/3/#findComment-4251392 Share on other sites

Doctor Perils
Well, Death Guard are white but yeah, that's a very neat green, true colours for a super army. I would however recommend some flames and/or dragon scales dotted here and there, to make sure your army is still recognizable as salamanders. I feel that some flames would stick out particularly well on this green, as the bright against dark pastel will be awesome. On the other hand, some nice deep burgundy dragon scales could look awesome too. If it were me, I'd paint the flames around the feet, and do the same for my infantry : you'll be able then to keep an awesome colour scheme throughout the army, and you could justify it as being "marching through fire and flames", which could be of a symbolic nature to your company. EDIT : remember that flames are brightest at their core, so the red will be on the outside, not the inside as it is often represented in GW stuff :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316417-chapter-colours-in-legion-times/page/3/#findComment-4251848 Share on other sites
Zebulon
Thanks for the detailed reply LT :) Shoulder pads are quite a deep green on DG, no? Flames will be the next step, up the outside of the legs I think as that will also help to hide the split in the legs. I will try red outer with then orange, yellow and white in middle yes. Scales I might try on top of the shoulders and back. Will have a think about how to do that well. Also needs a dragon on the chest, and some script. Cheers for your thoughts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316417-chapter-colours-in-legion-times/page/3/#findComment-4251888 Share on other sites

Wolf Lord Loki
I think as long as you reference the padent legion in the coloud scheme you could get away with the 'chapter colours. For example I think it looks wierd that the polux models DOESNT have a crimson fist! ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316417-chapter-colours-in-legion-times/page/3/#findComment-4259681 Share on other sites
