lokkorex
Heyo! Having looked at the allies matrix in betrayal the world eaters and iron warriors aresworn brothers and neither legions have any others, bar the mechanicum for the iron warriors, which from extermination we know is a somewhat strained relationship. My question is would these two legions primarchs be friends? Both are outsiders more or less, both are carrying on some serious rage and father issues, and both rely on attrition warfare. What do you think? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316494-the-lord-of-iron-and-the-red-angel/ Share on other sites
Calas Typhon
We know that there was some respect from the then War Hounds for the Iron Warriors, from the short story in Tales of Heresy, After Desh'ea. Angron, disregarded any of the Primarchs I believe, all though he was starting to respect Lorgar in Betrayer, He respected perhaps some of the other Primarchs too for their leadership and command, such as Horus: "Horus is a fine commander, but that’s the limit of my admiration for that arrogant, preening bastard. I joined his rebellion because I can tolerate him easier than I can endure the abomination that names himself Master of Mankind." Respect is probably the wrong word to use, but it fit easiest. Perturabo however is a different story. He has not been covered as well as Angron, so we do not fully know his relationships with some of the other Primarchs. What we do know about him is, He liked Magnus, and he had some trust in his brothers, which was thrown away when Fulgrim betrayed him. He had many detractors too, such as Corax. All in all, I don't feel they would get a long well. The War Hounds prior to Angron had respect for the IVth for their warcraft, we do not know if that was shown back, I highly doubt it, as the Legion was well into their transformation into the Iron Warriors we know at the end of the Great Crusade. Angron would not care much regardless, although he might respect the brutality of Perturabo and the IVth as Warriors. Perturabo might look at Angron and the World Eaters as a useful tool, but its hard to tell. Corswain
I look at it as complimentary fighting styles. The Iron Warriors knock down the wall and the World Eaters storm the breach. Seems like they can rely on each other, rather than any sort of friendship or brotherhood. They'd probably come to blows on honour and such, Pert wanting to always use the most efficient method where angron always wants to rip and tear. But knowing Pert he'd probably make it so the the world eaters want to charge in for the promise of honour etc when he's just using them as an effective tool :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316494-the-lord-of-iron-and-the-red-angel/#findComment-4236731 Share on other sites
