The Pounder
Right then, I've built my force to what I consider a playable level. I have mainly bought stuff I wanted to paint (all those shiny blue and gold toys!) or that I had in the ol' bitz box. I have played 1 game so far and really enjoyed myself even though I lost! Damn you Wolf Lord Loki and your White Scars! I have a game booked with an Imperial Fists force on Friday. Here's the list: LoW: Guilliman HQ: Praetor with Thunder Hammer, Iron Halo and Jump Pack. Troops: Suzerain Squad + additional Suzerain with Legion Standard (not sure if these are troops or not) Troops: Tactical Squad, Combi Flamer, Rhino. Troops: Tactical Squad, Rhino. Troops: Tactical Support Squad, Plasmaguns, Combi Plasma, Rhino. Fast Attack: Locutarus Squad, Lightning Claw, Combat Shield, 5 additional Locutarus. Heavy Support: Landraider Phobos. Heavy Support: Sicaran Battle Tank, Lascannon sponsons. That's almost everything I have, though I do have plenty more Tactical squads. I know it's very elite but could it do the business? Praefectus Invictus
Suzerains are elites, unless they are taken in place of a legion command squad, which seems to be what you want to do as you've put a standard on one of them. Otherwise it looks pretty solid, but I'd give the Suzerains the land raider as a dedicated transport to increase their survivability. Caillum
Guilliman makes Suzerains Troops, but they will be the standard squad. As Invictus said, they can also be taken as a "Command Squad" in HQ (not taking up a slot), with 1 guy swapping his boarding shield for a Legion Standard (probably what you want to do given you have enough Troops). I agree with the list being pretty solid. One piece of advice would be to swap the Praetor for a Consul of some sort, as you don't need him really. Maybe a Chaplain for some Zealot on the Locutarus Squad? Wolf Lord Loki
Hey Jud! Quick thought is guiliman bulky? How many spaces will he take up in the land raider? Ishagu
I would drop the Tactical Support Squad and replace it with a second Sicaran :-) You're a little light on busting armour but a second Sicaran with Tank Hunting courtesy of the Primarch will have you covered and then some. Also, I'd probably give both regular Tac Squad sgts a power fist, artificer armour and a bolt pistol. Also, why not replace the Praetor with a cheap Chaplain equipped with a Power Fist? Guilliman becomes that much better when he's re-rolling to hit AND wound (thanks to his Shred blade). With the spare points you can add ceramite to your Land Raider (essential!) With these modifications you can have a focused and powerful list :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316508-juds-ultramarines-2000pts/#findComment-4247576 Share on other sites
Wolf Lord Loki
Well Juds regular opponents dont generally pack a lot of melta weapons (at the moment! ;-)) so there can be a saving on the armoured ceremite. Id think of trialing a few different consols when you have a chance but I appreciate that youll need to collect a few more toy soldiers first Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316508-juds-ultramarines-2000pts/#findComment-4247831 Share on other sites

Ishagu
Your forces have the makings of a great list. With the second Sicaran you'll be taking further advantage of Guilliman's buffs, and a cheap Chaplain (the BaC guy is exactly that) is far more beneficial to your assault unit than a Praetor. Wolf Lord Loki
What about converting up the termininator lord from BoC to a librarian? Throw a little biomancy into the termis? Speaking of those catiphratii- id give thought to either popping cyclones on them (there is a gothic style 3rd party one that might suit!) and making them the ultras special unit? Right guys - rather than giving Jud a long shopping list to make the perfect list what about we work with what he has!! I do believe hes getting the Battle of Calth box for xmas so what can we do with those models that wont require too much buying new! Ive suggested bulking his plasma support squad to 10 and at least one squad of vets set up for a particular role. Whats your thoughts? Great advice Ishagu! Next on the to get list is a second Sicaran. I was wondering whether to add a jump pack to the Chaplain or using him as he is? I can get a lot of bitz from my bruv (he does Grey Knights) and convert up the Librarian! I'm going to hold off making the Ultramarines Termie squad as I'm holding out for Forgeworld to release them! Good call on the Vets and Plasma squad, think they'd add to the overall force at higher points levels. Ishagu
Keep the Chaplain as is, maybe replace his plasma Pistol with just a regular bolt pistol if you want to save points? Just keep him in the Landraider with Guilliman so no need for jump pack or anything :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316508-juds-ultramarines-2000pts/#findComment-4253287 Share on other sites
