Contemptor Conversion

So I'm toying with the idea of trying to convert the plastic Contemptor from the BOC boxset.

My idea is to try and put a power sword and shield along with one of the power fists.

What I'm wondering is... Is there a Titan arm / weapon (or something else of similar scale) that might work in that functon?

Any suggestions?

Titan arms/weapons are way. way bigger.

Look at the space wolf venerable dread sprue for a dreadnought sized axe and shield smile.png

Dreadknight weapons also work.

I googled "Sword and shield contemptor" for you. Take a look at the results and see if you find any inspiration.

Find a friendly opponent and explain that the model doesn't match the game loadout, and is just a representation of the unit.

If they get arsey point out:

1) It's just a game.

2) That all models are infact only ever

a representation of the troops tabled - Otherwise we would need to round up hordes of actual Tyranids and Orks every time we wanted a game, and have some pretty sturdy tables to play on too!

If you've ever seen the Imperial Fists Contemptor with Shield & Hammer, it was made by one of the Frater here on the B&C. So if you can find him, you'd have an in-house source (so to speak) on how to possibly get around to pimping out yours.

The sword and shield from that kit will definitely work. Add in some iconography from a vehicle kit and it should come up great.

Off to a bits site I go!

If you're talking about the Dreadknight, note that the shields in the kit are just tilt shields; probably too small for use as a contemptor's shield.

It must be said that this...

... is pretty fething awesome.

That is awesome for some reason the base made me think Attack on Titan and the pose made me think Gundam wielding a beam saber.

The dreadnought progress looks nice, I'd probably go for a sort of emperors champion pose since the BaC contemptor is facing forward it'd looks cool to see him pointing the sword in the direction he is facing.

People should be more open to some smart criticism. 'Awesome!' and 'looking good!' doesnt help at all and is far from truth. Your dreadnought is at the moment far from good, I'm sure you can do better smile.png Base is by far the best element. BaC contemptor is realy easy to repose and thats the point where you should start - cut the groins and waist, and make the pose slightly more dynamic. Try posing it a manner simmilar to this one: http://www.thediceabide.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/contemptor8.jpg

or this one: http://imgur.com/7eS5jIG

Then pose the sword to follow dynamics of its body. At the moment your model is extremely static. Also i get it that dreadknights sword is realy easy to obtain, but isn't it too big?

edited: Oh i found other images of that conteptor and it also has dreadknight sword, but it was cut and shortened, and looks better that way. Maybe you should try it too.

edited 2: some nice bac conversions i found:
