Pre-Heresy Emperors Children

SW1

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to do some loyalist EC and wonder if anyone can shed any light on pre-heresy colours or if they didn't really change colours that much.

I was thinking of a rich purple/gold colour as that's what seems to dominate any picture searches on the matter. Is this right for Terran EC?

My googlefoo seems to either be lacking or they didn't have a different name before being united with their primark.

They were already named Emperor's Children before the coming of Fulgrim, though the name wasn't officialised. The most we know of their Terran color scheme is a pearl-white pauldron with a golden Palatine Aquila and the III numeral.

That helps a lot. I thought that was the case but wasn't 100% sure.

So I'll likely be doing a rich purple, gold trim and cream details/pads.

Galaxy in Flames mentions that the officers in the legion all bore black-rimmed shoulder pads, and I believe it mentions the colours of the plumes and crests on the helmets as well. It's during the sequence when Lucius is tearing across the battlefield looking for an opponent, prior to contacting Eidolon.

There's some stuff in the Forge World books as well, although I don't think they've had an expose like the Ultramarines and Sons of Horus have yet.

All this info is amazing. Thanks for all the comments.

I think I'm going to sacrifice a few mk7's to the case of getting the paint jobs right for the different legions I want to do and then apply paint to my HH stuff.

Lol ... Got to find something to do with mk7 now I've jumped on the train that has no breaks!!!

Well it looks like the direction I'm heading with my HH stuff may seriously change as I've just realised much more of my collection is 30k valid. So I may just dabble with the EC's rather than do a full force.

Lol ... Deciding which sweeties I want from all the jars to choose from is difficult. :D

The info you've given me though won't go to waste though as I will be doing some loyalist EC. :tu:
