Ishagu
I totally advocate building strong lists, and I'll never understand it when people intentionally go out of their way to keep their armies weak. On the other hand, I find it un-necessary to constantly spam the strongest possible combinations. I own multiples of everything for my 40k Armies. I run Centurions and Imperial Knights regularly - they are a very strong units. I don't make them invisible in every game - that would be un-necessary. A good player would know where to draw the line. No need to specifically run crappy units to nerf yourself, but don't look for overpowering combinations all the time either. Players will eventually reach this tabletop maturity naturally. Of course, if you tell me you'd like to play a tournament style game in advance, I would have no issue with building that style of army! My 30k Ultras are optimised, and they play to the Legion and Primarch's strengths. I have the correct redundancy and my list makes use of impressive shooting and close combat capability, however I haven't gone out of my way to only spam high-value, low points units and I haven't looked for cross army combinations. Charlo
If you all listen, reeeeeeeeeally carefully, you can hear the Melta heating up :O But really while there are some obviously "stronger" legions on paper, it is totally meta/ playstyle/ personal preference/ army list dependant. Case in point, you castle up well enough and your RG Alpha strike isn't as cool. Or you take scanners and suddenly that coils Alpha player isn't infiltrating as close. Hesh Kadesh
Best answer I think i have found to an RG Decap Strike army is a DG Reaping allied with Mechanicum. Typhon+Deathshroud, Thurible+Void Shield Vigilator in a Land Raider Phobos Damocles Rhino Breachers, Apothecaries with Augury Scanner, Graviton Guns Heavy Flamer Teams using relay pipes to become Heavy Torrent weapons ang gaining Interceptor Bikers, maybe with Forge Lord to get Interceptor Plasma Guns if you don't tale Vigilator to scout Triple Deredeo/Double with Medusa Battery Maybe Praetor launcher Fortifications including either skyfire cannons or a Pipe Network 3x3 Thallax Allies, Plasma Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316609-in-game-legion-power-levels/page/3/#findComment-4241329 Share on other sites
