Try browns and greys for chipping, Raktra. Get a sponge, get some paint on it (probably a mixture of grey and brown but make sure they're not totally mixed), and then apply it to the model in moderation. After that, apply some Leadbelcher in the same way, just less of it.

Instant weathering laugh.png!

I have had some progress on my stuff for this month. I have the one squad of marines and some crew left so I will probably pledge again. Maybe I can get my 2k list done this month!

In true VIII legion style...I lied. The characters aren't done by the weekend. In fact, they're sitting there and taunting me for being a slow painter :/

HOWEVER! school finishes soon, and with the end of studying, comes the start of frantic painting! so onwards and upwards.

(It's at about this point I regret pledging so much to paint :D)

Primed and ready for details

How do you paint the yellow? I tried 1 layer white spray+ 1 layer golden yellow spray but the edges remain white

Here's some progress on the Ashen Brigade's pledge this month!!!

Have the painting pledge marines and termie praetor primed and ready for painting! 10 other tac marines I pledged to simply build have been completed, along with another praetor and the contemptor dread. Put some bright green paint on them now!

Aand more progress: my first termie is done, and the second set of 6 marines is well-begun....oh, and I almost finished the contemptor!

I'm not happy with the termie's stormbolter...not an issue in the long run, he's getting a volkite charger (standard kit for a lernaean) as soon as FW gets done recutting the sprue (no doubt to include hands on the pistol grips?), but I'll probably make it more green and less silver.

Best post a piccie to show that I have actually pulled my finger out and have been making slow progress:

Metallics are ongoing on Decima. Need to do a sepia wash on him next and after, further drybrushing and hightlights before I start his red cloak. The White Scars are being weathered. White, I'm finding, is a tricky colour to weather. I'm using Charadon Granite to chip the edges and am then using Chainmail and a graphite pencil to fill in larger chips to show the bare metal underneath. 3 are done and 2 to go. Then I need to weather the red trim then powder the legs to show dust and mud.

Really need to find something to inspire me to restart my Scars... unsure.png

Started some Thallaxiiii work. Really love these minis. gallery_84024_10520_23710.jpg

Three primed, three in "prep"-stage.

And a close-up on the mock-up on the heavy chain weapon. They need more work but... as I said, mock-up ;)gallery_84024_10520_333507.jpg

//Nevindar

This, this right here has made my day. (Uneventful day :P) Those look brutal Nevindar! And very fitting. When I get round to doing some mech, I'll defo have to ask to borrow that idea. Nice work!

And some nice XX legion marines there March! Like the base paint you've gone with, kinda emphasises ghe more metallic sheen on ghe armor rather than just flat turquoise :)

Edit: oops, forgot to mention...those White scars are coming along brilliantly, especially the freehand patterns you've got going on the shields. Can't say I see many White scars breachers, well, any. So, I suppose your's are the best I've ever seen ;)

Finished up assembling my 10 man volkite equipped Terror Squad.

Really great work everyone! Getting these things finished is gonna be tougher than I thought with the holiday looming.
