fedratsailor
So ive been planning on building an Ordo Reductor army since i got my red mechanicum book. This is the basis of that work. To start off i have built a 2k base list. I have 5 Planned exspansion to that 2k list to finish the army at 7k using all the force org slots using the Matrix of Ruin. I built the army without any cybernetica units due to wanting to make the army a Loyalist force. Base List HQ-Archmagos Reductor Artellus Omega 255pts Machinator Array, Volkite Charger, Djinn Skein, Rad Grenades, Abeyant, Power Axe, (Paragon blade/Cyber Familiar /Augury upgrades) E-Myrmidon Secutors (6) Chargers 345 pts T-Thallax Cohort A (6) 255 pts T-Thallax Cohort B (6) 255 pts H-Krios Venator Squadron (2) 300 pts H-Krios Squadron (2) 250 pts H- Myrmidon Destructors (5) Culverin 340 pts Figure the Archmagos can either go with the Secutors or the Destructors depending on the Scenario H-Reductor Artillery Battery (3) Medusa/Autosim/Siege 465 pts T-Thallax Cohort C (6) 255 pts +4 Myrmidon Destructors Culverin 260 pts Paragon Blade/Augury for Archmagos Reductor 20 pts First Exspansion would use the last Heavy Slot available, add a 3rd troop choice, and increase the Destructors. the upgrades just finish off the exspansion to 1000pts. T-Thallax Cohort D (9) 375pts +3 Myrmidon Secutors Chargers 165 pts +9 Thallax Cohort (3 per squad, A/B/C) 360 pts T-Adsecularis Covenant (20) Carapace/Induction 100 pts This Exspansion fully flesh's out the Troop slots. HQ-Magos Prime Myrmidax 210 pts Machinator, Myrmidax, Abeyant, Power Fist, Power Sword, Graviton Gun x2, Augury (Rad Grenades Upgrades) E-Myrmidon Secutors (7) Graviton 470 pts F-Avenger Strike Fighter BSC/2x Missile 185 pts + triaros for Myrmidon secutors 135 pts This Exspansion gives me alot more options for the Army including the 1st true AA in the army. LOW-Fellblade (Ceramite) 565pts +1 Krios 125 pts +1 Krios Venator 150 pts + triaros for Myrmidon secutors 135 pts Cyber-familiar for Archmagos Reductor 15 pts Rad Grenades for Myrmidax 10 pts LOW-Typhoon x2 (Ceramite/Lascannon each) 820 pts F-Avenger Strike Fighter Chaff/2x Missile 180 pts Last 2 exspansion just finish using the final Force org slots. Only model i have atm is a converted plastic Tech Priest to be using as the Archmagos. Nothing else has been bought due to wanting to make sure im happy with the list. Willing to listen to anyones question and concerns. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316669-matrix-of-ruin-ordo-reductor-army/ Share on other sites
Caillum
Ordo Reductor are so hot right now! :) Just looking at the base list here. I would definitely give your Thallax Cohorts a pair of special weapons and an upgrade; they really need them. Photon thrusters with Destructor (Tank Hunters) are pretty good as they have Lance, so you can fish for 6's (the lightning guns have Rending and the photon thrusters will glance anything on a 6). Or go for 6 heavy chainblades with Ferrox (Rage & Rending in CC, but no special weapons). You have a lot of Volkite in both Myrmidon squads, which is fine because Choooom! But I'd separate their roles a little. Volkite calivers on the Destructors and phased-plasma fusils on the Secutors, for instance. Or Volkite chargers on the Secutors and graviton imploders on the Destructors. Some food for thought. I'd swap the power axe for a power fist on your Archmagos; the axe is useless with a Paragon blade, but the fist will give him an extra attack and help against tougher targets and vehicles. fedratsailor
So i did a list rewrite including alot of unit upgrades for the full Roster. Caillum
7500? Lol! Realistically, at that level, you're probably playing Apocalypse... Empyrite upgrade on Thallax is ok, as you get Hardened Armour, but the Teleport Deep Strike is only useful for Zone Mortalis games (they're Jet Pack Infantry, so naturally get Deep Strike). Your base 2000 list was pretty good with those changes I suggested, and you have it all in the 7500 list, so there's a good starter list! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316669-matrix-of-ruin-ordo-reductor-army/#findComment-4243047 Share on other sites
fedratsailor
Figured out how i would split the list up. might seem a little weird but would give me 2 2500 pt lists, with an additional 2500 for those omg Big games 2500(List 1) Archmagos reductor 280 CyberFamiliar+PowerFist+PhotonGauntlet+ParagonBlade+Machinator+Abeyant+Archmagos+Djinn-Skein Myrmidon Secutors (9) (Volkite Chargers x18) 510 Thallax Cohort (9) (Multi-Melta x3/destructor) 435 Thallax Cohort (9) (Multi-Melta x3/destructor) 435 Krios Squadron (3) 375 Reductor Artillery Squadron (3) (Medusa/Siege/Autosimulacra) 465 2500(List 2) Magos Prime Malagra 245 Cyber-Familiar+RadGrenades+Malagra+RadFurnace+Machinator+Abeyant+PowerSword+ChainFist+Augury Myrmidon Secutors (9) (Phased Plasma-Fusil x18) 690 Thallax Cohort (9) (Photon Thruster x3/Destructor) 465 Thallax Cohort (9) (Photon Thruster x3/Destructor) 465 Avenger Strike Fighter (Battle Servitor/2x Missile) 185 Krios Venator Squadron (3) 450 2500(Upgrades) Adsecularis Covenant (20) (Triaros/Induction/Carapace/Frag) 240 Avenger Strike Fighter (Battle Servitor/2x Missile) 185 Myrmidon Destructors (9) (Graviton) 690 Fellblade (ceramite) 565 Typhoon x2 (lascannon/ceramite each) 820 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316669-matrix-of-ruin-ordo-reductor-army/#findComment-4243426 Share on other sites
zedmeister
No Minotaurs? For shame! Get a Minotaur battery going. They give lovely big blasts and wipe Marine blobs nicely. Caillum
Minotaurs are awesome in theory, but the 36-240" range is a massive restriction in practice. Getting under those guns is just too easy for the opponent. The Earthshaker is such an iconic piece of artillery, but it only works on a REALLY big board. Medusae, on the other hand, are spectacular. The other one I like the look of is the Mars-Colossus Bombard. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316669-matrix-of-ruin-ordo-reductor-army/#findComment-4245653 Share on other sites
captainblow
I dont have my taghmata book handy, but i believe the minotaur has a 24" min range. Still a huge chunk of board though. Kilofix
So can Ordo Reductor really take ANY Imperium LoW (interpreted from "red" HH Mech book pg.21)? Edit - Also, do you have any issues getting your Myrmidons in range? And what about considering Reductor Artillery like Basilisks? Sol_Invictus
So can Ordo Reductor really take ANY Imperium LoW (interpreted from "red" HH Mech book pg.21)? It says they can take specific Imperial Super-Heavy vehicles that don't already have a heresy era counterpart to fill LoW selections as outlined on pg. 21. So not exactly "ANY"... Sol_Invictus
Well I had interpreted it as you can take Super Heavy vehicles from IA books but after re-reading it it might be saying you can take any Imperial super heavies in the HH books plus stuff from IA? Here's what it says: "The Ordo Reductor also has particular access to its own variants of Imperial Super-heavy tanks used during the Great Crusade, while using units from other Forge World publications to represent the wider range of arcane war engines the Mechanicum has access to is also possible (see the following box-out)." The following box out is where it mentions taking things from IA as long as there is no HH era counterpart. So it's entirely possible that I was mistaken in my reading of it...
