Heresy army painting identity crisis

Yeah I said it. I have two boxes of BoC and I cant figure out what to use them for. I was going to do SoH but did my test model and got bored. Currently I have 7000+ points of Night Lords so they are flat out, in fact I would be tempted to take some of the lesser used models, strip them and use them for a new force, Destroyers fall into that category. I have a small 2500 ish point Iron Warrior army, mostly terminators and heavy vehicles and 5 guys in power armor aside from my Kyr character. Part of this thread is me thinking out loud and maybe getting some feedback for more ideas. I am not a particularly competitive gamer, I do this more for the hobby and showing off my models than anything else.

 

So the options I am considering are Iron Warriors or Raven Guard. A brief run down:

Iron Warriors 2500pts- I can do the paint scheme fairly well, it just takes a crap load of time, three washes just for the silver armor, 4 different colors involved on the dirty bronze trim, 4 colors on the hazard stripes......

Was looking at 2 blobs of tacticals, 2 vet squads with sniper and heavy flamers in one and heavy bolters in the other, two rhinos, ten Tyrant terminators(5 already finished), a single kheres contemptor, a deredeo contemptor, a scorpius whirlwind, and a sicarion(sp?), two apothecaries.  Note aside from the Deredeo and scorpius, I already own everything here although only the 5 tyrants are painted. Probably stick with Kyr although I don't think he adds much to the list.  

 

Bonuses- they like mob warfare. I can make them look good on the field. I love Tyrant Terminators. FW made awesome looking heads. Already own most of it.

 

Negatives- I feel its a fairly generic list, paint scheme is a PITA, and worst looking Primarch FW has done and possibly worst model FW has ever produced(if I ever used the primarch). I run them as loyalist IW anyway so the primarch thing is a moot point.

 

Raven Guard-2500 I haven't pointed out a list yet but this is what I was thinking. 2 blob squads infiltrating with apothecaries and cameoline and auguries. At least one sniper vet squad with flamers in a drop pod. Mor Daythen sniper squad. Small Fury squad.  Maybe a Destroyer squad possibly with the moritat special character. Deredeo Contemptor. Kheres Contemptor or two. Deathstorm drop pod. Some kind of praetor. Can field a recon unit as well in scout armor.

 

Bonuses- I like the scheme, but haven't actually tried painting it yet. Doing a single dark grey highlight looks easier than the multi-color highlights and washes of an IW. Love the Moritat character. Snipers are cool. I feel there are more tactical options.

I actually like the primarch as a character even though the model hasn't been produced yet. Aside from the Mor Daythen and Deredeo, I own everything here.

 

Negatives- Nothing special about the list that grabs me. I would likely run it fluffwise as a Predation fleet getting back in the fight.

 

 

As you can see, a lot of this comes down to paint schemes and cool models I like although I would like to win from time to time.  Ten Tyrants are pretty impressive when it comes to firepower. Uggg decisions, decisions.

Raven guard are a cool alpha strike list, get furious charge on termies and jumpers. Infiltrate on other infantry.

 

The moritat character can't join units as far as I am aware. They also have maun who makes deep striking lists epic
