disease
Hi gang, I'm looking to build a combined list of death guard primary and allied Questoris knights of 2500pt. Could someone suggest a sample list or some suggestions? I have all the knight variants (including the Atropos) with exception to the Margera, and can build most death guard things given enough time. My problem is that I am hideously slow (the worst person) at building and painting so I'm scared to commit to anything until I get the list nailed. Would like to incorporate breachers if possible. Looking to play a middle ground of fluff and crunch - I don't care if I lose a friendly game, but I don't want to bring a feather duster to a knife party either :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316724-assistance-required-death-guard-and-questoris-knights/ Share on other sites
Father Mehman
Right. I may not play anymore but I think I can still build a list- especially with Knights. I've been toying around with this 1500 point list for a few years but it never had enough umph. Maybe with a few Knights it'll turn out better. Strike Force Tafrac 1500 Point List HQ Legion Centurion (120) -Chaplain -Artificer Armour -Refractor Field -Crozius Arcanum -Plasma Pistol Troops Tactical Squad [20] (340) -Sergeant +Artificer Armour +Power Sword +Plasma Pistol +Melta Bombs -Combat Blades [20] -Legion Vexilla Breacher Squad [10] (285) -Sergeant +Artificer Armour +Thunder Hammer -Flamer [2] +Chem-munitions -Legion Vexilla Elites Apothecarion Detachment (110) Apothecary -Power Sword -Augury Scanner Apothecary -Augury Scanner Terminator Squad [5] (225) Cataphractii Armour -Sergeant +Power Sword +Grenade Harness -Power Fist [2] -Chainfist [2] -Heavy Flamer +Chem-munitions Veteran Squad [10] (280) -Sergeant +Artificer Armour +Power Fist +Plasma Pistol -Heavy Bolter and Suspensor Web -Flamer +Chem-munitions -Legion Vexilla Heavy Support Heavy Support Squad [5] (140) -Sergeant +Augury Scanner -Heavy Flamer [5] +Chem-munitions Well, that's all I've got. Play around with it and make sure to add some Knights ! disease
Thanks for that list. Problem I see with that is that almost everything is close combat orientated or short range with no options for manoeuvrability; in my local scene those units would be shot off the board, pummelled from afar and would never deliver their punch, or capture far objectives. Back to the drawing board, but certainly some things to consider. Hesh Kadesh
Two knights are the minimum you need to field them as allies. You are also going to want to mitigate costs. I like a Seneschal (cheapest HQ upgrade) and a Knight Aspirant (the troop which reduces cost). The Castigator and Acheron do best in either rolle IMHO due to the lack of a need to roll to hit, or TL while benefitig if necessary., although to save points, the Errant or Paladin are sweet. I Like the melta knight for its S9 to ignore FNP on Iron Hands blobs if they are a thing. Regardless, set aside 800pts for these. An atrapos is a possibility too. As for your Army, you don't have points to spend on Lords of War, unless it is either cheap, or something like a Flyer which you can't otherwise access. I am quite a fan at the moment of Typhon and Deathshroud in a Land Raider Phobos joined by a Vigilator. They scout forwards and then trundle onto mid objective, and sit there with calas typhon removing Scoring and then using Implacable Advance to score, while using S5 vs T3 to rip through enemy squads, while they can go to ground cheers to the Stealth of the Vigilator. A Primus Medicae can take a Boarding Shield to make them a complete anchor in the centre. An assault squad or Knight sat nearby can help stop them getting swamped by things like; an assault squad has the ability to boost the Deathshrouds output with another Rad Nade. Tactical squads are useless. I Wouldn't bother filling minimum with Tac Squads. Maybe one 10 Man with a Nuncio and a Rhino to help while an Assault Squad backed up by heavy Chem Flamer Rhino Squads. A Medusa gives you a barrage attack. Aside from that... Man i don't really know what you want me to comment on? Build a list first, then it is easier to suggest where to shed points. Etc.
