I usually run 2 or 3 vets on chimera (carapace, 1 flamer, 2 plasma) and now im thinking about switching one of them with a squad of Wyrdvane in chimera with a 2 lvl Primaris psyker in order to try some psy stuff. Most witchfire can be replicated with regular weapons but the buffs are stupidly powerful with guard. HenricusTyranicus Posted December 3, 2015 Share Posted December 3, 2015 No, take the Wyrdvanes in a Chimera. Disembark in the movement phase, cast in the psychic phase, get back in with a run move. There may be something in the rules that prevent that, but I don't know of it. I'll check when I get a chance though. WarriorFish Posted December 4, 2015 Share Posted December 4, 2015 Psykers are squishy and a higher target due to the useful buffs they can cast, so I'd give them a Chimera to help keep them safe. If you want to also shoot from the top hatch you can, but that'd only be if you wanted shooty powers which as mentioned isn't the best use of them for Guard. Ufortunatly you can embark only during the movement phase... but can disembark and embark (dunno how), its forbidden to embark and disembark. Back to the psy point my idea was to use only witchfires, hoping to get some novas or beams or going safe with psy shriek ( i play against marines and i will make 2 average wounds that its not bad).
