maxamumdes
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-CA/Mechanicum-Ordinatus-Ulator It's finally out and it looks great in my opinion. Plus the best part, if you read the description it says that skitarii and cult can take it as a lord of war choice in 40k, using the same rules found in the taghmata army book. Yes please! Any thoughts to how well on of them would work with the skitarii or cult list? CommodusXIII
I don't have either book in front of me, but I don't think any current AdMech detachments or formations have a Lord of War slot. You'd have to take a CAD with Cult Mechanicus or go Unbound. It's a mean unit, and not really for any game below Apocalypse. That being said, it's sure to cut a giant hole in the enemy's lines. Being nigh-indestructable on the first turn helps but its life expectantly drops precipitously from there. Make that first shot count! mmimzie
What's the range?? It's still pretty hard to shoot at in later turns getting worse ever turn?? I figure you park it in a corner and hope for the best? jeffersonian000
It would be nice if GW and FW read their own rules before publishing new ones, because neither Skitarii nor Cult Mechanicus have LoW slots, while Skitarii also lack HQs so can't CAD. This in a day when all they needed to do was make it a unique formation on its own that can only be fielded with either a Skitarii primary or Cult Mechanicus primary. When will they learn. <shakes head> SJ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316809-mechanicum-ordinatus-ulator/#findComment-4244971 Share on other sites
Grimdeath
Wouldn't this fit into an Admech War Convocation? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316809-mechanicum-ordinatus-ulator/#findComment-4245002 Share on other sites

MagicHat
I don't think that the War Convocation has a Lord of War slot, but I could be wrong. The war convocation do technically have up to three LoW in the Knight Oathsworn detachment. Not that it helps. Only way is a Cult Mechanicus CAD. CommodusXIII
The Oathsworn Detachment (and the rest of the Knight Detachments) specify that the Lords of War must be Imperial Knights. I've been trying to sort out how to include a Titan in my army for larger battles and have been hitting the same walls. I've been trying to sort out how to include a Titan in my army for larger battles and have been hitting the same walls. Hence the "Not that it helps" part. Still, a Cult mechanicus CAD should be able to take either a Titan or Ordinatus, so there is no real problem, to include them, right? CommodusXIII
Unless you're a Skitarii player and not a Cult Mechanicus player. Allowing the Skitarii to include something as Lord of War is useless when they can't actually take any Lords of War to begin with. Mitchverr
I think I (and hope my group) will just house rule its allowance into skitarii, perhaps theres a new formation thing that might come with the supposed new 40k admech book thats coming. But yeah, i asked them about it (email) and got a pretty random reply of "house rule it" mixed with "we cant say really" and lastly "if the formation allows a lord of war they can use it" which all completely misses the point i raised of Skitarii cant field a LoW and that they are selling it as if they can which is actually kinda you know, false advertising kind of right now (leaving open the room for future book change). Targetlock
In my gaming group I'm allowed with players permission to ally Mechanicum with Ad-Mech for 40k games and most of my Mechanicum is scratch built so have plans to have a go scratch building one from a Baneblade, but yeah awesome model and decent and fun rules. CommodusXIII
For some reason, that's much smaller than I'd pictured in my head. I know it's an Ordinatus Minoris, but with that damage output I was expecting something a lot larger.
