ShinyRhino
Has anyone successfully put any of the bare power armored heads on a Scout torso? I've tried a couple times to shave down the neck joint of PA bare heads to get a more grizzled Scout Sergeant, but they just haven't turned out right. If you've done so, I'd love to see a pic of the resulting neck joint before and after you glad it to the Scout armor torso. Kierdale
I've never tried it but perhaps drilling the torso where the head is to attach, using a drill of about the same thickness as the neck of the head bit, would be better than trimming down the neck itself...? Paradigm
I did this with an old army I no longer have. The drill method is key. You may need some green stuff to smooth it out. Also, you can always use guard heads from a third party bit company, then you don't have to do anything. Victoria Miniatures has some great ones. Keep in mind it will not look right, next to the old ugly regular scout heads and could lead to a complete head swap for the unit. Btw, I recently saw someone use the leftover heads from the stormtrooper kit and it looked pretty good. The Unseen
I used the Scion helmets, all it took was a tiny bit of knife work to cut the "ball" of the bottom of the neck to get them to lay flat. Tiny bit of greenstuff or clay to get the angle the way you want, glue, done. Jarl of Wulfen
Other options for grizzled might be the SW scout heads that are in the SW kit, as well as heads from chaos marauders Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316893-scout-sergeant-heads-from-pa-helm-less-heads/#findComment-4246533 Share on other sites
SickSix
I prefer helmets from PigIron miniatures. Helmetless troops fighting on alien planets and space borne combats is silly. ShinyRhino
Thanks, all. Looks like I'll skip it or look at some of the bare Guard heads. I'm just not a fan of helmets on Marine Scouts. The4thHorseman
I used the Chem mask heads from victoria miniatures. She makes reall high quality resin products. Also the heads are great, slightly smaller than a Power Armor marine, but perfect for scouts body, plus it doesn't look like the offspring of an NFL player and a Potato. http://victoriaminiatures.highwire.com/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/316893-scout-sergeant-heads-from-pa-helm-less-heads/#findComment-4248644 Share on other sites
