Anyone know of GOOD (balanced) 7th ed Cypher house rules?

He doesn't have rules. Even the GW set says he's a classic model that doesn't have rules but is a collector's item or some such nonsense. I'm thinking of trying to work him into a Dark Apostle role as he tends to collect a following.

BUT he can can lead a little formation of veteran marines (1st company support) that would easily fit in a 1000pts army

You can find his rules here http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/Cypher.html

you could always just take him in an unbound force

Thing is... Cypher can't lead or be in a battle forged Da army

But you can take him in a non-battleforged list with dA to give your own guys all the buffs...

Doesn't is specifically say he can't be taken with Dark Angels?

only in a battle forged, rules go out the window if it's an unbound list. And no formations aren't a workaround, your either unbound or your not taking cypher.

Yes you can. Dataslate says explicitly that he can't be taken with Dark Angels if they are Battle-Forged. Meaning unbound is fine.

To prove that to myself I read through it again this morning. Page 147 (or at least it is on my iphone - your configuaration will vary) :).

Cheers
