Converted Assassins?

Recommended Posts

I briefly surfed the sub-forum here and I did see a couple examples, but do we have a thread or does a resource exist elsewhere that shows off converted assassins?

I'm surprised we don't see more assassin conversions since they are pretty cookie cutter (by GW standards anyway) but maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places?

We don't have a particular thread, no, but there are several painting and conversion threads in the forum that include peoples' assassins.

I believe there were a few done for the ETL last year, you could try the ETL Strategium thread. :)

Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but a while back I got tired of painting grey and went off on a brief special project to create a Space Wolves themed 'Vindicare' assassin. gallery_49979_9944_587625.jpg

Found out I hate trying to paint white in the process and this is an old photo, the 1k Sons head has been since painted. However, Hroarr, the Spear of Fenris, was born of this project.

Use a callidus to make my 4th unique tech priest dominus. Just gotta File her back down alittle bit to throw on a cult mech logo i got from a knight box. Gonna paint her to be like a Bee. Yellow suit with black stripes on her arms and legs.

There's an unreleased Culexus model? That puts it up to 4, then.

EDIT: I looked it up on the Collecting Citadel Miniatures archive, and it looks like they scrapped just the body, but released the head with the other sculpt as the alternate model. Weird...

There are only three Culexus sculpts right now, the two metal ones being the same body with different heads as you said.

There are a few of the alternate metal sculpt out there, though. I found one on ebay but the buyer took it off auction even after I offered him $200, lol.

Here's a painted one:

I have a handful...

I went on a mission at one point to scoop up cheap assassins on ebay, most of these were a pound or so :D

Vindicare mostly crap reposes, one arm swap

Culexus a few kit bashes

Eversor, my faves and the start of the project, a lot more extreme arm swaps and reposes

And Callidus, again a few more reposes and kitbashes

Last of all the Classic assassin and an Ordo Sicarius Inquisitor :D

Should probably grab the plastics at some point, and the aiming Vindicare who is annoyingly valuable.

Okay, so that bottom right Eversor is now officially my favorite model ever.  I know he's supposed to be kicking a door in or something like that, but from that angle it looks like he was trying to vault over those ruins and caught his foot on them.  This is the motion capture photography of his brief glimpse backwards in utter disbelief at his blunder, activated grenade forgotten in his other hand. Cue the Wile E. Coyote soundtrack! :biggrin.::thumbsup:

Finally got around to painting this lovely miniature. As a Sisters of Battle player I'm always on the lookout for models, which allow me to maintain an all female army. But what I really love about this model, is how her rifle looks infinately more suitable to what the rules say an Exitus Rifle is capable of, than the puny little one on the GW Models.:biggrin.:

The miniature is Sarah Blitzer IMEF Sniper from Reaper Miniatures, with two minor modification.
The original model is almost freakishly tall, standing next to my GW Sisters of Battle or Inquistion minis, so I decided to saw through and re-glue her neck, knees and ankles, in order to shorten her. I also glued on a Revolver to represend her Exitus Pistol.
