I'm pretty sure I'm going to run my Stormies from C:MT and back them up with the Emperor's Spear, and a small Company of the Great Wolf Detachment of jump pack wolf guard and AssCan/PFHF dreads with a rune priest HQ or 2 vindicators instead of the wolf guard. That should be good for supporting them. That leaves me with the rest of my guard, which is as follows: 1850 points all chimeras have camo netting and dozer blades HQ 1 CCS with MoO, OotF, Autocannon team, 1 HF, 1 Vox in a chimera with Tallarn Desert raiders, camo gear Troops Infantry platoon all have Tallarn Desert raiders PCS, Autocannon, Vox, HF 3x IS, Missile launcher, GL, Vox 2x Mortar Squads Heavy Bolter squad Veterans, Chimera, Forward sentries, Tallarn Desert raiders, Autocannon, 2 GL, Flamer, Vox Fast Attack 2x Armored Sentinel Squadron, 1 sentinel with camo netting, smoke launchers and plasma cannon 1 Hellhound squadron, camo netting, dozer blade and pintle mounted heavy stubber Heavy Support 2x Leman Russ Squadron, 1 Battle tank with camo netting, dozer blade and pintle mounted heavy stubber I don't have the Leman Russes or the Hellhound yet, but I think that's a pretty decent list to build up to. I know that many will tell me to go with a tank commander, but it's really a mech force, so lots of infantry and that means using orders. The idea is that the sentinels will support the infantry platoon as it advances through cover to capture back and midfield objectives, while vets grab linebreaker and grab objectives early. The hellhound will clean out other objectives with the inferno cannon while the russes blast opposing vehicles. Does that sound like a pretty balanced list? greycat Posted December 15, 2015 Share Posted December 15, 2015 It seems like a very balanced list, quite fluffy as well. If you wanted a more competitive list you could change a few things. If you like the way the list looks then go for it. It all really depends on your meta. Is that to be covered by allies? I would use the Russes to do that, if I expected armor I'd swap the Battle tanks for Vanquishers. Other than that I'd swap the grenade launchers and flamer on the vets for melta guns. Other than that I really don't know what I could do. Think his plan was to do that with SW detachment? Not this one, this would just be straight guard, the Space wolves will support my Tempestus list.
