WarriorFish
Is this the right place for them? They look like a good start though, a nice colour on them and the skulls look great :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317157-pre-heresy-night-lords/#findComment-4252873 Share on other sites

Vulpine
Hi Perry. Thanks. Well, my model painting is usually critised for cheating... One of my mates says I use inks/washes and drybrush too much. So, this time I've not done any washs at all, it's all in the spray painting. I've been experimenting. I sprayed them black, fully. I then stud them all up and sprayed them with a dark blue. Oddly enough my experimenting went as far as using non minature sprays. Both black and dark blue was from B&Q. Then I sprayed them lightly with Halford Dark Blue matalic. High light light blue, silver piping (not done in the pics) and silver pad trim then yello ink to turn it golden (oh, I have used a ink) then a scull painted white, then bone coulor then highlighted white. The left shoulder pads and some vampir heads are on order from Puppetswar . The pads I'll spray black then red, highlight and I will ink black. The heads will be sprayed desert brown and highlighted up to white. I also have some forgeworld night lord heads for a vetran squad. helterskelter
There is no such thing as cheating when you paint your own models, you use your own techniques and develop your own way of doing things. Do what you like, how you like! More on topic the terror markings look good Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317157-pre-heresy-night-lords/#findComment-4253856 Share on other sites
Vulpine
Thanks for that. Wasn't going to do the skull faces. I was thinking they would detract from the model if not done correctly. But yeah, think they look good! And easier to do than I expected. WarriorFish
Yeah, how can you possibly cheat at painting? Making things easier and quicker is only a good thing :P Do you have any other models to paint up, if not what are your purchasing plans? Ah mate, a guy I know threw a huge tantrum when Foundation Paints were released shouting how everyone would become lazy, terrible painters who just cheat their way to finishing their models. Now look, the world's standard has gone waaaay up. Screw the bastards. Well I have two 'betrayal' box sets, that makes • 1 Vetran squad (Hev Bolt and Plasma) • 3 Tactical squads (HevBolt, one of each) • 1 Devestator squad (missiles) • 2 Assult squads (both plaspistolx2, Meltagun) • 1 Cpt with Jump pack. Phase two is 2x 5 terms and 2 Dreds. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317157-pre-heresy-night-lords/#findComment-4256711 Share on other sites
