Fun commission, very nice model to work on.
 

Not quite; possibly finalist pin sort of level (unless the amount of high standard pieces since moving to the small events has really dropped off).  The freehand's a little scrappy for competition level work and the edges aren't dotted on extremes. For a high-end tabletop piece though, it's fine and dandy.

The lighter scheme looks like an improved version of the old 2nd edition era Ultramarines blue...

Dingdingding! We have a winner. I'm an old bugger, and I've already done a rather dark blue UM army in the past. Wanted to keep it light this time. Also if you have black sections, a lighter scheme makes it easier to get that looking black rather than grey as the contrast across the piece is greater.
