RedFox
Hi, I'm looking for advices and criticism for the death guard army I'm building (with no mkiv from battle of calth!) this is pretty much a heavy armored army with both a fellblade and a spartan along his little brother, the land raider proteus. I'm looking to footlog my breachers with the help of the dreadnough for support fire. The breachers are also there to protect the fellblade from CC units. Typhon and one of the termie squad (which one !?) will go in the spartan while the other ride in the proteus. Thinking of outflanking the veterans with heavy flamers since I don't have any other reserve units. That's pretty much it, simple army to play, not a whole lot of units but very though ones along with good scoring units. what do you all think ? also, should i switch the fellblade heavy bolter for the flamer ? +++ Death Guard (2500pts) +++ + HQ (200pts) + Calas Typhon (200pts) ····Master of the Legion [Pride of the Legion] + Troops (800pts) + Deathshroud Terminator Squad (210ps) Legion Breacher Siege Squad (280pts) [9x Legion Breacher Siege Space Marines, 2x Melta gun] ····Legion Breacher Siege Sergeant [Artificer Armour, Power Fist] Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (310pts) [Chem-munitions, 2x Heavy Flamer, Legion Rhino Armoured Carrier, 9x Legion Veteran Space Marines, Legion Vexilla, Outflank, Power Weapon] ····Legion Veteran Sergeant [Artificer Armour, Deathshroud Power Scythe] + Elites (205pts) + Contemptor Dreadnought Talon (205pts) ····Legion Contemptor Dreadnought (205pts) [Carapace Mounted Havoc Launcher, Chem-munitions, Heavy Flamer, Twin-linked Autocannon] + Heavy Support (755pts) + Grave Warden Terminator Squad (215pts) [4x Grave Warden Terminator, Heavy Flamer with Chem-munitions] ····Chem-master [Chainfist, Combi-weapon] Legion Land Raider Battle Squadron (220pts) ····Land Raider Proteus [Chem-munitions, Twin-linked Heavy Flamer] Legion Spartan Assault Tank (320pts) [Chem-munitions, Flare Shield, Twin-linked Heavy Flamer] + Lord of War (540pts) + Legion Fellblade (540pts) [space Marine Legion Crew] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317418-2500-death-guard/ Share on other sites
Father Mehman
I don't do much in the way of lists but one thing I know is to not post up all the costs for each unit. Only put up costs for the whole unit totaled. GW gets a bit ancy when you list out their numbers . Caustic63
Not having Armoured Ceramite on your Spartan, Felblade and Land Raider is a huge no-no, since you don't want them to be so easily broken open by Melta weapons. In regards to which Terminator Squad should go inside the Spartan with Typhus, I'd recommend the Deathshrouds. They benefit from his Rad Grenades the most, and they want to be in close combat unlike the Grave Wardens who want to be shooting at close range (which is why the Proteus is better for them). As a side note, in this army I think your anti-armour and anti-flyer is pretty lacking. The Deathshrouds should have Meltabombs, and you should strongly consider running your Contemptor as Mortis to ensure you are covered from all angles. In this arrangement, the Proteus could easily be a dedicated transport thus freeing up a Heavy Support slot for some more firepower!
